After turning on his sides back and forth several times, Zain finally opened his eyes exasperatedly and shook the blanket off himself. After the fight that he had with Aaliya last night, Zain couldn't catch a wink of sleep. He turned to his right and saw from the tiny alarm on the lamp table that the time was 6 o'clock in the morning. 6 o'clock in the morning!! This has to be the earliest time Zain has ever woken up in his life. "This is what all those poets and novels and romanticist mean when they say love gives people sleepless nights." Zain grumbled groggily to himself. Zain gave out a big yawn as he stretched his arm wide, when he noticed that Aaliya isn't on the sofa sleeping.

He immediately got up and went to check the bathroom, but she wasn't there either. He started to panick and wondered where could Aaliya possibly be so early in the morning. Then, Zain remembered how whenever she was upset, Aaliya would always go to sit by the pool. So he stepped towards the window and peeked through, sure enough there was Aaliya staring at the sky by the pool. "Do I know my wife well or what", Zain thought proudly to himself. Aaliya has always been someone that did things he could never expect or predict, take last night as the latest example. So, every time he is able to predict her action, it makes him feel an inch closer to understanding her which brings him immense happiness.

Aaliya looked absently at the sky with her feet dipped halfway in the pool, and she pondered over what she should do next. She knew that Zain or anyone else in the house for that matter would detest the idea of suspecting Barkat. However, she had hoped that after listening to her Zain would have at least supported her reasoning, but here Zain was completely disregarding it.

She knew perfectly well that to keep the peace in the family, it would be best to just drop the matter. But Aaliya's conscious just won't let her as there are just too many reasons to suspect Barkat. So Aaliya contemplated if she should look into Meer Khan's and Barkat's past alone by herself without anyone knowing. Though, this would mean breaking the promise that she made to Zain at the train station about not keeping any secrets from each other.

Confused on what to do, she tried to clear her head by shaking it when suddenly she felt someone beside her. It was Zain, of course it was him. He was always had a knack to come see her when she least expected him.

Aaliya immediately looked away in the other direction from where he was sitting, hoping he would catch the hint that she wasn't in the mood to talk to him at the moment. Zain pretended like he didn't catch the hint and said, "For how long exactly have you been here MKB? I swear you put the morning roosters to shame!". Not appreciating the humour, Aaliya snapped her head around and gave Zain a nasty glare before looking away again.

Zain sighed and decided to just get straight to the point since Aaliya's mood didn't seem to have toned down from last night.

Zain: "After so many years, I am seeing my mom smiling so full heartedly everyday ever since Barkat came back in our lives. Barkat has brought back that piece of happiness that we never realized was missing in our family. And most importantly, with her return Mom has finally let go of the bitterness she had for Bhopal and especially for your family. That's why I really don't want to believe that Barkat is the cause of all the troubles Aaliya."

Aaliya: "I know Zain. I don't want to believe that Barkat is behind this either, but-"

Zain: " Let me finish. Please."Aaliya nodded and signed for Zain to proceed with what he had to say.

Zain:" I don't want to believe that, but I can't cast away your suspicions either. You have saved this house on several occasions Aaliya and you have always done what's was best for this family. So, after thinking a lot about it last night, I've decided to just trust you and go along with your gut feeling. I will admit that I still don't really suspect Barkat, but I understand that this can be because of my own bias opinion about her. So, I will do what you think is best instead. I will support you with whatever you plan to do about this situation."

Aaliya was very elated and relieved to hear that Zain was going to support her. With him by her side, she felt like there was nothing that she couldn't accomplish.

She was about to thank him when suddenly Zain pinched Aaliya's right cheek. "OWW!!", Aaliya exclaimed, " What the heck are you doing Zain?!". To which Zain replied," This is your punishment for what you said last night about Dad being the only one who truly considers you his family. I don't know what the real meaning of family is and I do not know how many meanings there can be for the word family. However I do know one thing... you mean a lot to me Aaliya. I know that I have done some mistakes that have hurt your feelings and I may do a lot more mistakes in the future as well. But please never forget that you are one of the most important person in my life. That's something that will never change."

A tear escaped Aaliya's eyes which Zain gently wiped away with one finger. Their eyes meet, and it stayed locked there with neither one of them being able to take their eyes off each other. After a few minutes passed by, Zain finally broke the silence, " So what's the plan, MKB?", he asked with his usual trademark smile.

Aaliya:" Before I tell you that, let's first go to our bedroom..we have to be careful when we talk about this topic."

"Good idea". Zain agreed and pulled Aaliya with him as he got up from the pool and they both walked back to their safe haven holding hands together.

Once in their bedroom, Aaliya started laying down the questions and she tried to work on answering them along with Zain.

Aaliya: " Okay, so let's ask the most obvious question. Why would Barkat want the division? What could she gain from it?"

Zain: " I don't know..I mean Dad put most of the shares in her name recently..and if a division were to occur she would rightfully own what she was given just like the rest of us."

Aaliya: " Then it's money that's important to her? Did living with Meer Khan unknowingly made her just like him?"

Zain: "But why would Barkat choose money over family? She just got reunited with us after so long, and it's not like she was being denied anything. If she ever needed something, all she had to do was ask and dad would give her anything she wanted, no matter what the price."

Aaliya:" What if she doesn't want to have to ask? What if she wants control of her share of the property?"

Zain: " That doesn't sound like the Barkat we've known all this time..the Barkat that loves all of us and accepted all of us with open arms.."

Aaliya:" Now that you mention it, it seems strange...the way she accepted everything so quickly. I understand that Meer Khan may not have treated her properly but no one just accepts so many changes to their life without a single complaint."

Zain:" But then these are just suspicions..what proofs do we have to back them up?"

Aaliya: " You are right..we are just going in circles here because we have no proof. And we won't be able to find any either because she already knows that I suspect her. How about we hire a private investigator then?"

Zain: " Good idea! And on the plus side, we won't have to worry about anyone finding out about it."

Later in the evening, Zain and Aaliya both met up with a private investigator who understood their concern and agreed to help them as much as he can. Over the span of a week, Zain and Aaliya provided the P.I. ( Private Investigator) with any information he needed such as pictures of their family, their family history, and most importantly the P.I had requested for a piece of Barkat's and Mami's or Mamu's hair for DNA testing just to be on the safe side.

Two whole week had now passed, and finally the P.I gave them a call and requested to meet them as soon as possible. He told them that he had found the answers to all their questions and he had requested them to come with an open mind as whatever he was going to tell them is going to shock them to their bones.

I know the pace might be a little slow for some people but I needed to set the pace of the story as well as close the giant loopholes that the CVs left in the show. I tried to speed things up a bit by keeping the whole investigation simple and quick.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter as well. :) Next Chapter is the big revelation. Hope you are all looking forward to it. :)

I've done my best to come up with an explanation as to why no one mentioned about Meer Khan's daughter.. and why no one ever wondered that the girl they found might be Bobby, not Barkat. I hope it will live up to your expectations as I tried to make it as logical as possible.
