Actor Namish Taneja, who is currently seen as Lakshya in Colors' Swaragini wanted to become a dancer, but destiny had some other plans for him and he ended up becoming an actor.
"When I was a kid, dancing was my passion, my first love and my first priority. But I never expressed my desire to be a choreographer, as I thought my parents would not allow me to pursue a career in it," says Namish.
He further added, "I secretly started learning b-boying and after some time I started teaching it to my school seniors. After around one year, my dad (who taught in the same school in which I was studying) saw me teaching b-boying to the students in the classroom. At that time I thought he would beat me up, but when I reached home, he asked me if I want to become a dancer. I was literally shaking with fear, but somehow I managed to express my feelings and told him that dancing is my passion."
After this incident, Namish's father renovated a room in the house and gave it as a gift to Namish. "He asked me to practice, learn and teach dance in that room, that was the most precious gift from my father," Namish said.
Namish came to Mumbai to meet his friend, who was trying his luck in the acting. His friend dragged him to an audition for an advertisement. Namish said, "That was my first audition and fortunately, I got selected. I got a good response after that advertisement went on-air and decided to switch my profession."
