Part 15

RK sat in his cabin as he stared through the glass doors right into Madhu's cabin. Just the way he used to stare at her 7 months back, the only difference being that Madhubala was not there anymore. Yes, 7 months passed and no, the time didnt flew by for RK. Each day in the last 7 months he had to sit in this chair having the view of the place where she used to be always, right in front of his eyes. Sure he had cherished that however much he might have regretted or denied it.

He remembered the day when he last met her.
Flashback starts
RK woke up in the morning and opened the door to collect the daily newspaper when he saw Madhu dragging her suitcase out of her apartment. A frown formed on his face as he looked at her enquiringly. She stopped in her tracks on noticing him standing there.

"Leaving the building for good?" RK asked jokingly as he tried know where she was going.

"Yes kind of.." she shrugged.

"So you mean I would be at least relieved of seeing you at least at my home. " he said sighing as he feigned relief.

A slight smile broke on her face but her eyes echoed pain. He looked at her intently now. She came forward still looking him in the eye and touched his cheek slightly with a trembling hand. RK couldn't jerk her away as he was locked with her gaze trying to judge her thoughts as a film of tears got visible in her eyes making them shine all the more.
She mumbled a 'take care' under her breath and walked off while RK stared at her retreating figure as she pulled the bag along with her.

Flashback end

He sighed as he remembered that day yet again. He had thought at that time that he would ask her the matter in the office as he was worried for her. The strange mix of emotions on her face had moved him and for that moment he wanted to forget their differences and talk to her. But when he came to agency, he was even more shocked to not find her anywhere. Even when he tried to know he was told that it was confidential.

Sikky entered his room right then. He looked at him jerking out of his thoughts. Sikky looked at him sympathetically annd turned back to look at Madhu's cabin for once.

"What's happened?" RK asked him.

"No news yet except for that Madhu mam is handling everything smoothly there. There are no major developments that we need to know of. Sultan and his men have set their feet in Dubai as it was known. They are planning to send their toilers to major cities of the country. Madhu mam has joined them and working as Sultan's apprentice."

"Thats dangerous!!" RK exclaimed.

"Yes it is.. but its Agent Malik we are talking about.." Sikky smiled cheekily. RK smiled back and nodded his head.

"When do we have to join her?" He asked him hopefully.

"No news yet.. We still have to wait and keep ourselves updated. It can be tomorrow or it can be later.. but it has to be soon because I dont think they would let Sultan send his men to the country.." Sikky said thoughtfully while RK nodded his head.

He had wanted to blame her again. And for a minute he had felt betrayed again that she left him and not breathed a word about it to him. But he couldn't think that way. Not only because he knew that even he hadnt worked anything for their relationship but also because she had left him that letter.

Flashback

RK fumed in his cabin angrily as he he flung open the door. He marched to the window ahead as he stared down in frustration. The general had refused to give any information about any whereabouts of Madhu and he was feeling utterly helpless. He punched the wall infront out of frustration. Needless to say there was a hole dug in the wall. His nose flared in anger as he remembered Madhu touching him in the morning. Why couldn't she have told him anything. Just then sikky entered his cabin.

"RK.." he called out from behind.

"Just leave me alone Sikky... I wont be a good company for now." He said angrily.

"I know you are upset.. But I came to give you this.." he said forwarding an envelope.

"Whats this now?" He said angrily expecting ut to be another official letter.

"Madhu mam left it for you and asked me to give it to you at 4 in the evening" he said with a faibt smile and walked off.

RK opened the letter restlessly as he scanned the words on the paper.
"Hey Rishabh.. yes I will call you Rishabh because for now, for once I am forgetting that I am Agent Malik and regarding our friendship more than that. So I deserve to call you 'Rishabh'. Okay enough wastage of time as I know by now you must be utterly restless and angry and the General would have helped the least. But its the way things are in our profession. We cant help it. Some things are meant to be confidential. You remember I was working on a mission right. Well, if you dont then do consult my files in my cabin. The key is in your right drawer. I am off to the Emirates. Can't tell you more than that about my location. I know you are not much enthusiastic about any of these missions but you will have to work on this. I hope you are not angry on me anymore for not telling you about my sudden vanish. I will miss our fights. Take care. -Your Madhu."
Flashback ends

That letter had given him a purpose to be in the agency. After that he started actually reading the files and by now he had quite an idea where Madhu could be. But he couldnt go to her because of the risks it might cause to Madhu.

Also he had come to know that the mission on which he was being sent and Sikky had told him about was held back for him for the time being. He was confused at first because Sikky had told him.that dayy that it was almost certain. But now he was refused. But in a few weeks even that got cleared as surfing into the details of the mission Sikky found out that he was to be sent on this very mission on which Madhu was sent. But Madhu volunteered herself for it and convinced the seniors against the idea of sending him.

The revelation left RK confused and angry. Why did she do it? But he engrossed himself in working on himself now so that he was deemed proper to be sent on the mission so that he could meet his Madhu again. He was scared for her and wanted to be with her to protect her.

Madhu was running hard on a deserted road at night. She would keep turning back every now and then as she tried to save herself. Fear was evident on her face as her hair slapped hard on her face due to that unruly wind. Sweating and panting she kept running but the monster kept chasing her. Suddenly she felt ground slip beneath her feet as she looked down only to find herself slipping down a cliff. She screamed as she kept sliding down the cliff.

I know you will always be there to save me..
Madhu's husky voice echoed as RK sat up with the jerk sweating profusely. Yet again he had that nightmare. Since the day Madhu went away he would have these strange nightmares. He would feel helpless on not beinv able to do anything for her.

He got up from his bed. His perfectly toned back was shining due to drops of sweat. He got up from the bed as he went to stand in fromt of his window staring ahead. The cool breeze brushed on his bare chest calming his nerves and senses. "Where are you Madhu...?" He said softly. He wanted to be with her soon but the authoroties were taking forever to send him to the mission even when he was well prepared now.

Just loved the update...it was intense though there was nothing much said openly in so many words...

Great update separation is making Rk realise that he misses Madhu and finally love her . Will he be able to save madhu in time . Love the restless Rk's charcter . Well written .
