Roja..
how a village girl with little knowledge of language fights for her husband who was abducted by some terrorists... and how she struggled at a new place with no support and communication gap...gossebumps while watching the movie...
A.R Rahman music was melodious too..

That film was so much under rated, plus Mani made it in his own creative style that audience couldn't connect to it... If he won't have experimented it with the style & give it a simpler approach, that movie might have made much bigger impact.

Love Ajay's character & approach towards politics.

yup the film was under rated and it wasn't a box office success...maybe the story telling of three different chars simultaneously didn't click with the audience but I liked it...

Ajay was too good in the movie...even liked Abhishek though Maddy in Tamil version was way better...

Gul Panag and Aisha in DOR!

Gul challenged the societal stereotype of a muslim woman who is normally viewed as oppressed. Instead, she takes on a journey to save her husband from death sentence and travels to Rajasthan all by herself. Not only that, but she has a job and sends money to her in laws.

Aisha plays a widow in Rajasthan who is stripped of her right to live. She overthrows all restrictions and learns how to enjoy life again. In the end she decides to take control of her own fate and gets on a train with Gul that's destined for another life.

Awesome examples people have said 😊 makes me happy that these movies were made in Bollywood, and I've got some movies to look back into to experience it myself
I liked Nayak a lot. This is a movie in which the character does something that many, maaany people are told to do- instead of just complaining about the government, challenge it yourself and try and make a change. It was massively ballsy!
They over-dramatized it a bit with that mud-fight thing, but it was a cool scene to show how so many people will prefer to go with what's easier and support with whoever's easier to support- in that case, the government.

I guess Queen. Just because her future husband refused to marry her her parents didn't make it a big deal like some other old bollywood films use to do when a girl can't get married..it becomes too dramatic and lets feel sorry for the girl and her life is over crap. Instead she went on a vacation to rediscover herself and was having fun.
PS great topic 😊
