Shot in the dark: Director refuses to incorporate suggestions by popular actor

This filmmaker recently met a noted actor to seek support for an upcoming film, but the latter began interfering in every aspect of the project.

A source says, "When the director initially went to meet the actor a few months ago, he did not show any interest in meeting or even discussing the project. However, eventually when the film got rave reviews on international platforms, he changed his stand and called her for a meeting." Unfortunately for the filmmaker, the meeting did not go as expected. Adds the source, "His first advise was to change the name of the film as he felt the Indian audience wouldn't connect to it. Next he suggested that a promotional song be included. But the director was far from convinced and refused to incorporate any such changes." The actor was clearly miffed over not being heeded. It was only later that he thought it over and decided to lend all support to the filmmaker.

His suggested name is bad. Aamir should stop interfering too much in creative aspect of filmmakers. every filmmaker want to proceed with their own vision.

This blind appears to be correct.Viacom had released Choone chali aasman hindi trailer but then again went back to Margarita with a straw for the hindi version as well.

Great to see Sonali Bose staying firm with her vision without caring for support and the censors

Always good to see filmmakers sticking to their guns. Sometimes changes to make a film more universally appealing dilute the film.

I'm curious how it will do in India. It tackles two huge taboos.

First is a woman with cerebral palsy seeking independence both social and emotional. We are a nation that still struggles to accept that people with developmental disabilities are capable of living independent fulfilling lives. Even more difficult to digest is the fact that such a person seeks love and sex just like the rest of us.

Second is bisexuality. The lead character equally falls for men and women. Her first sexual encounter and coming of age experience is with a woman. Not only does the film depict female sexuality, it depicts a level of sexual curiosity and fluidity that is taboo in society.

But can you imagine such a mature subject being promoted with some silly Bollywood style song?

This is one of my most eagerly awaited movies to watch this year.
