Why is PK ignored at award functions ?

-One of the most criticially acclaimed movies of 2014
-300 crs
- Great acting from Aamir,anushka

Yet it has less awards than even movies like HNY forget Haider,Queen etc . Why ?

It was Raju Hirani's weakest film. Only Aamir's performance was good. But I guess others were better.

They now only give awards who are present there to receive the awards. Awards have lost their credibility now. Its like that u show ur face and take awards with u.

Because IMO it wasn't all that...

300 cr means nothing when it comes to national awards.

From what I hear..PK came out second best to the Akshay movie it was similar to..also similar to Imtiaz, Hirani has not been churning movies like MunnaBhai anymore..his latest efforts have not been that great!...can't say much about the acting of Aamir with his botoxed face!...😆

I dont understand how mary com won. PK was great movie but acting wise Aamir khan was alright and overrated.

I can understand National awards but even in the other functions it was brutally ignored . U dont get to see great critical acclaim+BO performance in BW everyday

PK has even ignored completely at all awards. It may not have deserved many awards but it got literally nothing. Like you said it had critical acclaim n box office so it doesn't make sense. People genuinely liked the film even if they didn't think it was perfect. And that Bhagwan song which was shot so beautifully(wasn't even nominated) lost to that Jhume ki raat from kick...LOL that says it all. 😆

Let's not be so concerned that it did not get as many awards as HNY...there's a reason why that movie kept getting awards


I think the fact that Aamir doesn't show up played a big role in that. Because usually when a movie does super well, awards shows will nominate it and focus on it even if the story sucked (cough Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg etc). Plus PK's story wasn't actually that great; storywise it was Raju Hirani's weakest film.


With Kangana. I think she won that Filmfare because there was a big deal made about the award winners this year. She kept harping on it (because she herself actually cares about them) and also the nominations this year were quite different than they usually are. Plus, I think more people have watched Queen than say Mary Kom or Finding Fanny. Giving Aloo an award when compared with Rani, PC etc would just seem weird.
