Who cares?? Awards in India are a farce even the national ones, Mary Kom of all movies.

The fact is that PK was a great movie with one of the best performances of all time in Aamir Khan's PK. It will go down as one of the classics of Bollywood and the rest hardly matter.

I don't give BO that much importance but it made an insane 340 cores at the BO as well.

That coupled with Aamir's anti awards stance, were reasons enough to ignore it.

OMG also barely got awards. It was given a royal snub.

Earlier movies questioning religion used to flop. Now even if they succeed still there is attempt to ignore them.

I think NA and Filmfare types want to save themselves from being bashed as anti Hindu, anti national, traitors etc, that has become a fashion these days.

Yes, that too is huge factor.

it is raju hirani's weakest film... it was ok for me and many fans like me... Aamir should have gotten awards for actor but oh well, he doesn't attend awards... nothing related to anti-hindu n anti-muslim... 😆

If religious sentiments argument has no role then why was OMG also snubbed at awards?

Because it was a strictly OK film with a few good scenes.

OMG was released in 2012 which had several other highly critically acclaimed films:

Paan Singh Tomar (national award winner, Filmfare best film critics)
Barfi (filmfare winner, was sent to oscars)
Gangs of wasseypur
Kahani
Vicky donor

There was very very little chance of OMG winning with this level of competion

I am not saying anti-hindu issues didnt play a role in PK not winning any award

But the fact remains that it wasnt the best film released last year, and neither was it hirani's best work.

So if it didnt win anything, theres a good reason behind it as well.

The same can be said about Haider too!...Haider was perceived as showing mainly the Muslim point of view in Kashmir!...and it did not get the main National awards..of actor or director or film!...

PK didnt win awards because it was an over preachy, mediocre movie with a very weak and juvenile second half. Controversies helped it business wise. And no it wasnt boycotted because of being anti -Hindu. If that was the case Haider wouldnt have won whopping 5 national awards despite having a tinge of anti Hindu/anti Army bias and controversies.
