Qubool Hai Ki Ek Alag Kahani
Chapter 1:
Seher walked down the sidewalk as the stars twinkled in the dark sky. She shut her eyes as a tear escaped turning the corner she stopped and stared down on the white steps. She quickly wiped her tears and put her left arm through the strap of her large camp bag. She removed her slippers and calmly made her way up the marble steps. Seher dropped to her knees and confronted Ganesha's murti.
"Bappa," she sobbed "Bappa kyon tum ne aisa kiya? Why did this happen to me? You took Rehan from me and Sanam. Yes they believe in a different God. But they still did believe. Rehan even came to see you the day he died and you didn't save him. Ok you separated me from my love but why Sanam and Ahil. Poor Ahil is crushed that Sanam is gone he did one good kicking duplicate Sanam out. I know Sanam is alive somewhere and I will find her. It has been sometime but now enough is enough. I will find her with or without your help!"
Seher flicked the tears in her eyes and glared at Bappa's murti. "But I hope you are with me. This time you are not taking anyone important from me!" She pointed at the murti. She twirled around before she could take a step a hand blocked her way. Seher looked at them in shock.
"Tum?" She questioned the men that tried to kidnap her.
"Boss this is the girl we were suppose to sell." His friend whispered
"Where is my sister!?!" Seher screamed shaking the kidnapper from his collar.
"Hey laddaki chup." The boss said pushing her hand away.
"Boss just tell her that her sister fell into the depths of the ocean. She most likely is dead." The man smiled.
Seher stored her anger in trying to remember which body of water her sister could have fallen in. She jumped in joy as a light bulb brightened her world.
"Thank you." She spoke bouncing up and down "You told me where my sister could be." She reached out to hug the kidnapper
"Tum pagal ho. Let's go we will take you to your sister."
"Sure why not." She grinned slowly backing her way to the tray of sindoor. She threw sindoor filling the air. The tray made face-to-face contact with the kidnapper. "Happy Holi!" she yelled running as fast as she can.
Seher put her slippers on laughing as the kidnappers tried to rub the sindoor out of their eyes. She glanced around and noticed a hospital. She dashed towards it. The parking lot was shockingly empty. She searched for help. Seher spotted a car with the headlights on and rushed to it. She heard the kidnappers in the distance. Nobody was in the car but the trunk was open. She knelt down and walked towards the trunk and hopped inside it. Seher closed it partially and heard heavy footsteps approaching on the gravel ground.
"We lost her. You idiots." a voice yelled.
"Sorry boss." a voice said from the head side where Seher laid down.
A large thud filled the trunk making Seher jumped. She placed her hand on her chest calming herself down.
"Hey what do you think you are doing?" an aged voice yelled.
"Sorry sir." a voice near the trunk spoke.
Seher listened to the fading footsteps in the gravel. She sighed with relief as she heard two car doors shut and the engine starting.
"Oh shiz." she pushed at the trunk. "Great job Seher. You are a complete idiot. You sat in a random car. This is just perfect. Bappa what do I do? I know Sanam is in Pakistan. That is the only body of water they could have past by. Where is this car go-"
"Doctor-ji where are we going?" a boy's voice questioned unknowingly cutting Seher's rambling.
"Hum log Pakistan jane vala hai."
"Oh mere parivar vahan ki apana ghar Pakistan mein hai?" the boy asked.
"Bappa. Thank you. You proved yourself. Now I know you are with me. Well I don't know when we will get there so I should sleep. This boy is so clueless and boring. I think I will fall asleep fast." she curled herself up and fell fast asleep.
Shaad's Home (a hour earlier)
Shaad sat down in his room and sighed. Jannat had a tray of chai and put it in front of Shaad. He looked up at her and smiled he took a cup.
"Is anything wrong?" Jannat asked concerned
"Ummm its nothing." he told her standing up
"Shaad you can't hide anything from me. Just tell me please."
"Mere pyara bhai" he sighed putting his chai down. He sat next to Jannat. "He went to India and got into something big. He has been in a coma for such a long time. The doctors don't know how much longer he can stay-" his phone went off like an alarm. Jannat jumped up.
"Don't worry" he reassured her. He picked the phone "Hello... Ji ha Shaad speaking... What really? When, how, is he okay... Of course bring him home as soon as possible." He turned to Jannat with a huge smile. She stood up.
"What happened?"
"Jannat!" He yelled with joy picking her up and spinning around.
"Put me down. Tell me what happened."
"Mere bhai. He is okay. He woke up from his coma last night. I'm sooo happy. Ammi, Abu I need to tell them."
He ran out calling for his parents. Jannat jogged to catch up with him.
"Kya hua?" His Abu asked rubbing his eyes.
"Ammi, Abu! Shahzad zinda hai." he ran and hugged his parents.
"Sachamuch?" his Ammi wept with joy.
"He will be here by tomorrow morning!" Shaad exclaimed.
"Ok. Shanat Shaad. We will wake up extra early and get ready." his Abu smiled at his elder son.
He nodded in agreement and went to his room as Jannat laughed to see his joy. Shaad lay on the bed sound asleep. Jannat laid down next to the overjoyed brother and smiled. She slowly fell asleep.
The Next Morning
Seher stretched hitting the trunk again. A thud filled the tiny space. She immediately brought her hand to her chest and wished nobody heard it.
"We are almost to your house." An older voice spoke breaking the silence Seher hoped for.
After about 10 minutes the car made a screeching stop. Seher hit her head inside the trunk.
"Ow. Stupid. If he can't drive why does he drive." she thought rubbing her head.
"We are here." the same voice from before blurt out. "Ok beta you get the things from the trunk. I'll go check if anyone is up."
Seher's heart froze as two sides of the car door closed. She covered her mouth as the footsteps slowly approached her. The trunk opened beaming light into the tiny dark room. Seher quickly got up and someone caught her before she could hit the ground. She held the person and tried to get back to balance. She stared into two warm chocolate eyes. The rest of the face was covered by a striped brown shawl.
"Sorry. Please don't tell anyone." she begged holding her cramping legs.
"Don't worry. I will keep your secret safe." a sweet warm male voice said.
"Thank you." She smiled and slowly limped way.
"I would recommend hiding behind the trees till we go in." the same voice told Seher while he grabbed the bags.
Seher thought that would be good idea and hid there.
"Bye." the voice whispered as she heard bags wheeling away.
"Bye." she whispered back.
The doctor looked at the boy. "I think they are sleeping." he told him.
"oh." he sighed leaning against the door. as it burst open dropping him to the ground. About that time Seher ran off from there.
The noise woke Shaad as he turned his head to see Jannat staring at him. The screamed rolling off the bed.
"What is your problem? You gave me a heart attack." He yelled at Jannat.
"Sorry." she laughed looking off the bed.
Shaad looked at the time 8:30. "Oh no."
As they heard a hello from downstairs. Shaad looked at Jannat and quickly headed out of the door. He looked from the railing and shouted "Sorry doctor ."
He sped down the steps. As his brother peaked out the door.
"That is your brother. I don't know what he is looking for right now." the doctor pointed at Shahzad.
"Shahzad mere bhai. How are you?" he hugged his brother as his little brother stood as stiff as a rock.
"Who is this?" he managed to squeak from his brother's tight grip.
His word froze Shaad. As he turned to the doctor.
"This is what I wanted to talk to you about. Your brother lost his memory." the doctor spoke with an apologetic tone
Shaad looked at his precious younger brother and backed up to the couch plopping himself down.
