So, a my kind of episode
The timeless debate of aastha vs Vigyan

Damdaar dadi - aastha ki pratima

Viruddh

Rational Rao - Vigyan ke prateek

Dadi believes that the two are opposites, as one believes in unquestioned seva and the other leads to exploitation

For her, they are also exclusive, where aastha resides Vigyan has no place

Vigyan is a samadhan ( solution to make things as they should be ) and aastha is a vidhaan ( the natural state of things as they are )

And when we don't let nature be and alter it, we lose it.

Prof Rao, of course, believes that the two are incomplete without each other and aastha Is fortified by vigyan and Vigyan needs the foundation of Aastha

Both yog and prayog are needed in balance and are not exclusive !

So two people, who have led a full life, and have the wisdom of age see the world from two perspectives

And as always, the debate is inconclusive - and for the moment while Rao may have backed out in deference to the old lady

He will be back!

Baki - thapadiya mai can hear the sound of silence - the vibrations that are emitted by objects are 'heard' by thapadiya mai, and that shakti is called - rithambhara pragya.

Very impressive shakti ...

Also what was fascinating was the explanation of Sanskrit as the discovered language and not an invented language.

Ganga and Maya scene was also nice, finally Mayas prayashchit will be over, but at such a heavy price to pay!

Dadi rudra scene was cute - ironically while she and her grandson enjoy his joy, the stage has already been set for rudra to once again lose a loved one.

Dadi my Favourite woman of substance - her aastha was with her in her happy days

It was with her in the moments when she lost everything

And it's with her now in her struggle to rebuild her world

Once again, the gentle fragile lady strongly held her own against the vigyanik prof Rao!

100/10 to Utkarsh for this Gagar mein sagar episode

I Found it very exciting !

I of course side with prof Rao, but I know where Dadi is coming from!

So reassuring/ liberating to read your posts Arshi! 👏

I havent watched the episode yet, but was sort of dreading it after I read some comments on IF. I dont like it when there's too much darkness attributed to Dadi... she's a pretty impressive specimen of doughty old lady and I have a special soft corner for them, thanks to my own experiences 😊 They can be quite stubborn and formidable but are never really wicked.

Will watch and be back later...

Lovely post Arshi. I didn't know the difference between samadhan and vidhaan, and hence, was left wondering what Dadi meant. Thanks so much for elaborating on that in your post.
A very good episode.

Ritambara Pragnya - I read this sometime back that it is also the awareness of living beings to change of seasons . It is evident in the way plants go through flowering, fruition, animals go through reproductive cycle, hibernation etc. Obviously the why's behind Ritambhara Pragnya is known to us today. Today in MK, I came to know another aspect of Rithumbara Pragnya. The thing about the vibration of each person amazed me no end. And I thought it was beautifully woven into the story. I guess Ritumbhara Pragnya is one reason that Thapadiya Mai tends to read people well.

I completely agree with you on Dadi being a very strong lady. I find Shiva very similar to Dadi when it comes to a number of things, mental strength being one of them. Their core is the same, but I guess their beliefs are different.

Dadi is Dadi, old world, with the wisdom of a life lived!

A stubborn old coot, but doting and loving nonetheless

And the question of gyan vs Vigyan - it has no answer!

A timeless debate and if both sides have conviction, a great learning experience !

did u mean asthaa vs vigyaan?
gyaan and vigyaan are not opposite to each other though they mean different things.
Dadi missed 24 years of changes in the outside world and interactions with people. So she is in a time bubble.

A very very good episode! The shastrarth between pandits that has been a practice in our ancient history - this episode was remincent of that.

Just to hear the arguments and counter arguments flow was great and parts of me related to both!

Rithambhara Pragya also refers to the power to foresee events - like if you think of something or someone and that person or thing appears before you. - well Shivas argument could mean that you think of something because you can 'hear' their vibration and hence it seems that you could foresee their Appearance!

Yes shiva is like his mother - firm and Resolute, rudra in contrast gets very easily swayed !

No I kind of used gyan and Vigyan deliberately - though they must mean the same

But they are understood different - gyan comes from within and is intangible Vigyan - is tangible and refers to an external awareness of the world

More a like the difference between wisdom and knowledge.

It was a good epi.
By Gyani means having knowledge. But Gyani without realisation of that Gyan is someone who has just learnt the books without experiencing that knowledge. Dadi seems to be one of them.
If she had realised her Gyan, she would understand use of Vigyan in it.
All the Gyan has Vigyan attached to it. Our Rishis who wrote different scriptures were well aware of the Vigyan connected to it.
Gyan is the result of someone's experience & experiment. Vigyan makes one understand how & why the wisdom Gyan states.
The game has just begun. Lets see how far dadi's views stands.
Thapadia mai's quolity is really special. That's why she is able to judge people quicker.

Well said Minaxi. All gyan has Vigyan and Vigyan will lead to gyan.

I don't think Dadi's gyan is bookish.

Gyan is also bahu-aayami - multi faceted and multidimensional

Dadi's gyan that what is natural must be preserved as is comes from her world view and her experience and has truth in it.

Prof rao's gyan - that we can use technology to tap natures resources for the benefit of mankind - us another truth and comes from his world view and experience

The balance that Rao talked about - therein lies the answer - but who defines that balance - that is the key question!
