Ranbir doesn't want more date trouble
Ranbir's problem is that he has been juggling multiple projects at the same time. That's why he hasn't been able to focus on the completion of one project
Actor Ranbir Kapoor is not in the mood to delay the release of his maiden production venture anymore. The film, co-produced and directed by Anurag Basu and also starring Ranbir's alleged girlfriend, Katrina Kaif, has had an unlucky run with release dates so far.
The sleuth caper was initially slated to release in October last year, but was then rescheduled for a May 2015 opening reportedly due to date issues with the actors. Then, after an August 28 revision, it has now been pushed for a November 27 opening.
"Ranbir isn't pleased with the way things have panned out. He doesn't want the release date moving again, and that's why he has spoken to Anurag Basu to make sure that the film opens on the new decided date. That's why he is also keeping a close eye on the way the shoot is progressing. But now, he doesn't want to miss the deadline at all," says an insider close to the film.
It's believed that some part of the shoot still remains, after which it will undergo special effects.
"In between, Ranbir will also take out time for the post-production and promotions of Anurag Kashyap's film (that he is doing next). But he doesn't want his production venture to suffer any more delay," adds the insider.
Ranbir is also gearing up for Imtiaz Ali's next, with Deepika Padukone (which is believed to have been pushed to next year since it was releasing on Christmas which was too close to his sleuth film) and Karan Johar's next multi-starrer. "Ranbir's problem has been that he has been juggling multiple projects at the same time. That's why he hasn't been able to focus on the completion of one project," adds the insider. Ranbir and Anurag couldn't be reached for comment.
