They have been gagged. They have been prosecuted. What's their offence? Their sense of humour failed to pass the test of the moral guardians of the country. Even the country's conscious-keeping superstar did not approve of their one-liners, calling it "verbal violence".
Yet they refuse to be silenced. The All India Bakchod (AIB) team is back, and back in style. And they have chosen the best platform to make their first public appearance after the "roast" controversy-the India Today Conclave 2015. On the second day of the Conclave, they will perform live in a session titled "The Laugh-Off: Freedom of Speech and the Right to Be Roasted".

AIB, formed by four stand-up comedians-Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi, Gursimran Khamba and Ashish Shakya-had performed a comedy show "All India Bakchod Knockout Championship" for charity, along with film director Karan Johar, actors Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt. The show was organised for a private audience of 4,000 on December 20, 2014, in Mumbai. It was uploaded on AIB's YouTube channel in January. While it went viralinstantly, they were later forced to remove the videos as the show was deemed offensive by religious groups and activists. A PIL was filed in the Bombay High Court seeking action against the organisers of the show for "using obscene, vulgar and indecent language in public and also uploading video of the same for making it available to the public at large".
Not to be bogged down, the four funny men have already promised that they would be back with another kickass show. Watch out for shock and awe and loads of laughter at the new comedy central of the Conclave.
