But i do agree with that twitter pic of Bhumi then and now. it was idiotic.

The reality is the film wouldnt have worked if its USP was ONLY the fat girl. The film worked from what I understand due to the writing and direction. Its a victory of the underdog..in this case the underdog isnt the fat girl but the team of this film which had everything going against it. For me thats the reason to celebrate as it puts faith back in the basics.
Coming to media/YRF they always highlight one aspect when something works. Like when VD worked only Ayushman was highlighted. They failed to highlight the rest of the team involved. Now its the same case.

Bhumi could bag Shimit Amin's next opposite Arjun if that happens.

Another insightful opinion.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha':
A feminist fable about weight of aspirational manhood Among other things, it is its heroine's casual, and yet supreme, autonomy from the male gaze that makes this a special film

Noted. YRF could make the sequel for this movie. WHILE Arjun is still in the camp, use him wisely. We want this from hero POV too. I dont know, I look at the world and rated it based on money. If you have money money money, taklu ya fatty you are beautiful!

or show them buying under garments and Sharat does all these in the movie that too basing his character in the 90's without making the character a chirpy Parineeti like irritating character.

No complains from the film at all :)

I'm really looking forward to watching the film. The trailer looked adorable.. Songs are rustic and soothing.

For some reason there is a stereotype that women are emotional, romantic, sentimental but not sexual. It is a lot more heightened in Bollywood. If she is sexual, she is portrayed as a vamp or negative. 😕

^ and if she wants to fulfill her sexual desire, she HAS to have an extra marital affair.😆
Yes,i am actually waiting for your review. I want to know what do you think of Sandhya's character sketch. I found her to be a very well written character shown with a lot of subtlety. Like that little bit of feminism attached to her in the film was not in your face and forced which was such a nice change.

In my 134 years exp. fat girls r the happiest, funniest and very emotional.
And yes... they r good to make love than a skeleton beauty.

On a serious note, when wife starts looking older than charming husband, its creates whole lot of underlying problems. I hope this movie has covered that aspect maturely.
