Thank you Kizh. Good that the vm worked. I was skeptical of sharing it this way.
Kizh Indi di here are lines from the wikipedia page for a byronic hero.. beautiful verse.. this what got me into this mad investigation and conclusion that my kind of heroes are the byronic heroes.

"He knew himself a villain"but he deem'd
The rest no better than the thing he seem'd;
And scorn'd the best as hypocrites who hid
Those deeds the bolder spirit plainly did.
He knew himself detested, but he knew
The hearts that loath'd him, crouch'd and dreaded too.
Lone, wild, and strange, he stood alike exempt
From all affection and from all contempt: (I, XI)[2]"

That needs some time to process.
Saw these lines too on the page:
That man of loneliness and mystery,
Scarce seen to smile, and seldom heard to sigh
(Fits some one to a T don't you think?!)
Thank you for sharing Rhea. The vm is lovely, I wish I knew enough to comment on the technicalities, which I don't. I just know that I loved it! Yeah, I wish there was a better to way to share and display all this creative effort, one done with only pleasure as a gain. Hopefully good sense will prevail soon.

Thanks a lot kizh.. no need to know technicalities as long as it spoke to your heart.. was making a vm after quite a while..thrilled you loved it.. since the time I heard the song I want to see a particular someone stare out of the screen while this song played.
yeaaa you went and saw the wikipedia page.. those lines.. exactly.. perfectly apt. how do people pen down such nice things?

Arnav Singh Raizada is a brilliant character penned down. Now I see the inspiration is actually from literature, and the contemporary feel that the writers added made him relatable and even more heroic. The acting of course took him beyond imagination and brought such life into ASR that he made us feel things that real breathing people around us have not made us feel. While real life binds us, any form of art sets us free to imagine life full of endless possibilities. And IPK is such a piece of art.

Loved the VM rhea.
The intensity, the rawness along with the magic, these first few episodes are epic. You captured the moment so well in this VM.

I have been reading about an archetype.. the redeemable byronic hero.. a hero who is far from ideal.. who might have a tragic incident in his past.. who scorns society and niceties.. who is intelligent and hardened by life.. irresistibly male.. mysterious and out of reach.. may hide a golden heart.. capable of immense passion.. and a deep consuming love.

Took clips from the first three episodes and made this vm.. do take a look.. first attempt at using imovie..

Wow loved it, Rhea! 👏❤️ It's really a gem. I'm downloading it..."when you feel my heat look into my eyes..." 🤢 That line reminds me of Diwali almost kiss too. BTW, you should put watermark (your name) on your video.

Hi Rhea, watched again on the pc altho i did on phone yesterday. Incidental, I was some how reading about and looking into dictionary meanings for byronic hero just a couple of days ago.. a poem on my head...

Loved this vm as I already said... the last 30 sec or so.. with those lyrics were very pulling, apt...and a fitting end.. phenk do.. also very effective video editing...loved how his stubble was made very conspicuous by the low light.. reminiscent of the stirring looks of that farq padtha hai days..

checked the original of the song, some 200 million hits.. must be very popular.. nicely adapted in the vm.. enjoyed what i saw.. thank you..

Hi, The VM is absolutely gorgeous...

Just wanted to share a quote from this year's oscar nomination The Grand Budapest Hotel which I think fits the epic character of Arnav Singh Raizada...

"Rudeness is merely an expression of fear. People fear they won't get what they want. The most dreadful and unattractive (though I cant seem to agree with this adjective for ASR) person only needs to be loved, and they will open up like a flower."

Loved the VM ❤️

episode 2

ripping a part of her garment, so damn out of control. but was it out of character?

my thought: he was in an intensely vulnerable state of mind actually the first time we met him. he was coming back to lucknow to take back what was his. but in the way of the jungle, where might is right. for he had been given no choice. his right as son was taken away by a feckless father. his right to his home, usurped by an opportunist uncle. 12 years of suffering the consequences and doing all to overcome them. turning into a man behind a thick impenetrable wall. being courageous, himmat dikhai maine, and becoming an adult practically overnight shouldering all responsibilities of sister, home, later grandmother and family. yet, inside there was always that boy with a scream truncated. today he'd heard it standing right before where it had left his being the first time, that terrible day.

he comes and buys the place. controlled, cool, focusing on revenge. nothing else.

and all that vulnerability sits inside, no release for it. his sister speaks of his being tied to the past and the effect it has on him. on cue he says of course it doesn't bother him, this was a business decision.

at the fashion show, we see him closing his eyes, as though fatigued deeply. possibly he is. imagine the pent up feelings of sheesh mahal. and the churning of it all this day. it's an important event for him, yet he is cutting out of it.

then she arrives and falls into his arms. a jerk back to the present. those lips so close. who is this? what is happening. his show is ruined. anger steps in, possibly the only response in this situation. and his familiar defence.

the whole thing of who sent you here gets going. all the happenings of the day still buried deep.

then their interaction, her mention of jiji's wedding, it will break, his scathing insult: let it, girls like you, what difference does it make, one goes, you'll find the next. and her hurt upset retort: kya bakwaas kar rahen hai aap? aap kuch bhi bole jaa rahen hain, and who are you, after me for so long, what if someone spoke like this of your family, what if it were your sister, what if people spoke of her like this... boliye! hai koi jawab?"

at the mention of his sister, whose wedding had fallen apart, on the same day his mother had killed herself, all memories rushing back, end of day, he's tired, angry, dimaag not in full operation, he's beginning to come apart, but he stands there just staring, fire growing in eyes.

she says: badtamizi bhi ki bhi had hoti hai, hat jaiye hamare raastey se. humey jaaney dijiye.

and she begins to walk away.

think he snapped at that "badtameezi."

it happened once much later too. he'd walked right away from his father and his "galat" position in life, refusing to be tainted by it in the slightest. being "sahi" is paramount. he possibly had a fear that there may be something of his dad in him asserted by genes and he struggled to free himself. badtameez was not what he wanted to be associated with. ever. especially in relation to women.

yet, such is character, he had that anger, a trait reminiscent of his father if we take naniji's words into account. his nostrils had just flared a bit. he was at the edge. all the feelings of the whole day. not letting emotion get the better of him. now this.

with that peremptory get out of my way as she walks away, he loses it, pulls her back: badtamizi toh maine abhi shure bhi nahin ki hai.

all control so strictly imposed, lost.
and he transgresses. with another snapping.

tumhe jawab chahiye na? ye loh.

after that, he stood. staring with unseeing eyes. when she loosened her hair and covered her exposed back, looked for a second as though something registered. and he just stood, lost in a world that no one was given access to. she walked away. this time he didn't resist.

he certainly was not himself at the moment. now the more i see it the more i sense this. all the anguish of sheesh mahal. his mother's death, betrayal, suicide, hell, all the pain was in his mind today. she became unfortunately the one that got him to touch it all today, with that question about his sister.

i don't know if what i say is valid. these are just interpretations.

In di agree absolutely with your interpretation of Arnav's turbulent state of mind on that fateful day. Your edits reflect the same. Here is a spur of the moment note I wrote on eps 2.
