Not sure of the origin of this discussion..but agree with all of you...Thousand ways this golden egg laying goose was butchered.. SP creative heads never really seem to have realized what is the core of this show, why it differs from others and so should the way a lead quitting be dealt. In an industry highly vulnerable to every week trade winds, how a not so much of a your common formula worked.. became a rage ...should have given hints to them it should be kept away from your prosaic formulae..they should have stopped being in denial about carrying on the show without its core character / actor...had some sane tracks post marriage, end it on high..let the USP be intact...

But having cribbed, ranted, complained, or even cried .. sitting in the dusk today looking on the horizon...i got what i got for many months...i am most thankful that the characters / story was let to unravel at an intoxicatingly leisure pace for 10 months... thanks to the briiliant side characters/ actors buaji, mamiji, naniji.. all the tracks rode high almost exclusively on leads shoulders.. it remains a classic..

Though I wasn't a part of the forum back then but a post made in the first week of November 2012 caught my attention. The post mentioned in urlremoved the PH had mentioned that the story has run its course and they wanted tracks/ suggestions from the fans to carry on. I was dumbstruck to say the least...I mean how lame can anyone get...they were paying bl***y creatives and writers for what???

If they didn't understand the potential of a story and it's course then probably they were in wrong business...

I don't even want to comment on SP because it l take me pages to write about the adventures of a money making venture the channel is.

Having said that am glad they ended it with sobtis exit because I shudder to think what the PH would've done to the story considering they've an uncanny knack of creating a massacre once the main story came to conclusion

you are so nail on the head about that clinging to a formula... prosaic and not inspired.

what they accessed with ipk, they never have with their other shows... nor possibly ever will.

a completely new audoence set... and avery inteeresting one, even from the advertisers' point of view... we for a set across the world that can be such an opportunity for marketers everywhere...

but not a shred of real thought expended, a futile obsession with making ipk count with teh same old same old audience... i have heard of a senior star person saying as much... ha, it';s not working in the domestic market... well you are the biggest channel or so you claim, surely you have a line up of shows reaching that audience... here a different one, one those shows will never reach...

but no, we know best.

now, sit and do silly things trying to mine a treasure that was yours to take once.

i am looking again at the episodes as i download.

my g... the entire thing sang because of that chemistry, didn't it.

gust of wind, catch fall, hair flying... none of that is new... serial satple all. in fact most times they're laughable, flat... totally signaling this ain't your kind of thing.

but here, your eyes don't shift, your breath races... your sense of being sensible is where you have no idea.

the other beauty was the sense of humour... from the crass to the urbane adult refined, all sorts of flights into fun. of course the lead actress has a feel for comedy not many actresses in our land have... she is just too good, unless of course you have turned her into a shrieky object of let's get trp.

then little details here and there that enriched the watch... was seeing the epiosde where she fixes him with the jalebi bai ring tone... the man whom the angry young asr had reprimanded earlier has the most comical expression...

scattered across the early episodes some priceless touches.

no other serial offers this, is made with this amount of care... despite body doubles and many other ughs, there's so much to enjoy, cherish... worth fighting for was this show.

the ones who should have, didn't.

so i was happy to along with all of us here.
