is this true Singing Competition...???

Hey Guys,

what do u thing about II3. i think this is not singing competition.

among all current competition on different tv channels... i think Star Voice of India ( SVOI ) is best among all. they have very very good singers.

II3 is just know time pass and doing advertisement of prducts through the contenstants..

in SVOI, Harshit and Abhas already got song from mahesh bhatt(guest judge for this week with puja bhatt and mahesh bhatt) for his next movie in bollywood.

even SONU NIGAM has told that SVOI is best competition..

this II3 guys should do some hard work to find good singers and should not concentrate on performance first.

before this i was fan of II3 but when i saw SVOI i must say it is really good show.

you should see SVOI atleast once and specially 18th aug. episode

For me SVOI is best...

i think II needs music directors to shape up the contestants.

a music direct knows how they want to shape the singer..and how she/he can go ahead et..etc..

i haven't seen SVOI, but i did get hold of few saregamapa episodes. all i can say is that the amount of talent that it has is quite exemplary. II is way below par in terms of singing talent alone yet it is more popular than others which is not fair IMHO.

How would you define a 'singing contest'?
1) based on singing skills ?
2) based on performance skills ?
3) popularity ?
4) judged results ( no voting )
5) public voting ?

If you say singing skills, then there should be no voting !

All talents shows on air are actually popularity contests, since they are based on public voting. You think every audience listens with the ear of a music director ?

So if a contestant wins II3 who is not that skilled a singer, it is because he/she has endeared himself to the people, people like him/her, simply put , he/she was the most popular contestant, got the most amount of votes and thus deserve to win !!

Indian Idol is looking for somebody who Indian janta will idolize most compared to other contestants.

If Sony was looking for only a singer, they would not have let public voting be final decision.

To me it looks like here in this format, judges hold on the show kind of ends after the public voting begins. There comments are more for contestants so that they get a technical opinion on where they can improve themselves further.

Final decision is Janta's. The one thats least desired get voted out.
