Lol. At the "Sodumb" name callings, she actually said something decent. And I agree with her on the Tabu part, she should have been nominated as best actress.

I read Shakespeare a long time ago & i remembered the mom's role as a supporting one & was too lazy to check if my memories are right. so i never understood why peeps were so upset about Tabus nominations. Shame on me, eh!😆 Plus with all the promos of the movie putting Shahid & Shraddha ka lovestory in the front, it explains how that Tabu got stuck in nominations as a supporting actress for all awards.Maybe she should have protested this right from the beginning & honesty i think that if she was nominated as best actress, she would have won the critics award @ least.
I doubt anyone was more surprised than Sonam herself for her nomination, lol.
As for KS, it is a matter of personal taste, i guess. The movie was not perfect, but which movie is?The whole movie was resting on Milis shoulders & told from her point of vue. Sonam did a very good job @ portraying her imho. She mades you root for her & feel/cringe for the middle class girl out of place in a higher class. I for myself really liked the concept & the girl who is not afraid to stand for herself & say things like they are. The humour also is definitely right up my alley! I do love modern fairytales with flawed characters & imperfect circumstances & KS gives me that. Who knows? Maybe a 2nd watch could change your mind!😉

I don't thin Tabu has actually been vocal about this issue other then the blind item that came out about an actress being upset about not being given enough prominence in the promotions. From what I've seen of her the past, she just does her job, graciously accepts the praises and any awards she is given and then moves on. In this instance, the ones who are unhappy are the people who saw the film. It's more about the way the award organizers look at the performances. The way I see it, a strong, prominent performance was relegated to supporting status.

I must admit that I have never read Hamlet, but I'm surprised to read you say that you thought it was only a supporting role because I have always heard that Hamlet's relationship with his mother forms one of the key themes in the play.

I was really looking forward to Khoobsurat for 2 reasons:

1) I like Fawad. 😳

2) Aisha is one of my favourite films.

I understood the concept, but personally for me, there was something really lacking in the film. I think it was the direction. The film kinda dragged and plodded along. And I didn't find Mili's antics cute or funny. Compared to Aisha, which I thought was far wittier and a more well put together film, Khoobsurat fell flat for me. I want Rhea to bring back Rajshree Ohja to direct Battle for Bittora. 😒
