Why are we so defensive of what characters do?

Hi All

Yep, I actually, find it quite amusing that one wrong (atleast what some of us think of as wrong) move from a character and all the fans jump in to prove it right.

My questions are:
1) Why we have to defend the move? The character did it because the writer thought it was the demand of story. What is so defensive about it?😆
2) Yes, there can be point of views and some of us may think that it is not as wrong as others think. So, its okay to raise it as a point of discussion. But why secretive about it (only for x section of fans which makes other fans curious to see what exactly is inside). And we all know how good the secrecy is on IF😆
3) Why we feel the pain of a character when the actual actor who is playing the role is actually having fun and laughing about it? Arre yaar story hai, aage toh badegi. Its not the end of the world😆

Any further questions or thoughts (supportive or non-supportive) are welcome
Sshhh... This is a secret discussion😆

I know Ritzie! You're right but we have such a big craze over those characters that we become soldiers when anybody goes against them...
For an example I would kill that person online who speaks utter rubbish about NiRaj! Calm Down Anjali!
😊

This is embarrassing...😆 Unable to understand this x section and secret discussion...Am I a part of it too? 😆
Discussions can happen...According to me being defensive of a character isn't wrong either, because we are defensive of the characters we like, we relate too, or see ourselves in. But keeping it healthy is important. Not understanding or respecting others POV, and becoming over defensive isn't needed. As you said, it's characters, fictional characters at the end.

As for feeling the pain...nothing wrong in feeling for the characters, its the appreciation the actor gets. But for me, actors give life to the roles, that's it. I am not for their offscreen bonding, or what happens on set.

We defend dem coz we lyk dem or even relate to them.
Dese actors give life 2 d role dey r playing n dats wat makes dem gr8
N if dey make us feel the emotions which dey r portraying, it is a makin of a gr8 actor in dem

👏 Great post.
But be ware ---> I wish your post does not brings down forum activity. I am new here but I feel this type of discussions(debate over a character's actions) only, keep members engaged for longer hours.

^At the same time...I would add that for me...leads or lead actor is never above the storyline. CVs are the leads of the show and I respect them for that. I would definitely criticize their work but wouldn't question their credibility.

Soldiers😲 What is killing the person online?🤣.

This is what I feel when I am on the Forum and thus I am really amused reading all those lines. I feel like saying, yaar, why does it matter to you if Nisha is with Viraj or Kabir? Or if Viraj did something bad (or not bad for his fans). Why? Why? Why?😆

Lol.haan, they are just reel , y take them seriously. But gussa aur frustration bahar nikalna zaroori hai na, isiliye I take part in discussions abt characters.
We think the same,, even I dont want to do but cant stop myself bcoz the point is, there is certain expectations from the characters, and if that doesn't turn up good, we feel bad and we vent out oua feelings

It's good to have an opinion IMO & that's the only reason everyone discusses what they to discuss, out here 😊 Being defensive is OK to some extent too-as long as it's not offending someone. That's how fans are & always would be. Also, the content of the show matters a lot to start kicking off these discussions- if there is NOTHING to discuss, then know that the show is NOT gonna do well since it failed to invoke an emotion, a debate or a discussion from the audience. So, it's NOT about holding a discussion, it's about NOT having a discussion that one should be more concerned about! That's my opinion! 😆 I like all ur points Ritzie and I would like to 'try' to answer them to the best of my knowledge.. I could be wrong or right.. So apologies in advance if it doesn't make sense or if it's wrong 😳
1) why do we have to defend the move? Whenever I have defended any of their moves, I tend to find myself analyzing first & foremost if it was done in accordance of their character. If I am spending 30 minutes daily to watch NAUC, the least these writers can do is NOT serve me some gibberish. Apne baare mein hee bolungii yahaan, I don't defend most of their moves! It's the opposite case for me. I 'discuss' how the writers keep butchering every character to suit their needs! 😆 So, yeah I play offensive combat!
2) I don't think there are any posts in this forum which aren't 'OPEN' for discussion for EVERYONE! Last time i checked, there weren't even proper CC/ DT in place where u seek permission from TM. If there are such threads, please let me know. Writing Disclaimers (like- Topic strictly for NiRaj fans) & restricting 'entry' to any of the posts are against the forum rules. And like u said, there's zero secrecy here. So, you can all read, participate & discuss whatever (pertaining to the show) & wherever you like..
3) why do we feel the pain of the character? I used to but after all their characters were 'tweaked' & everything went awry toh I stopped 'connecting' & feeling their pains! 😆 If anyone feels their pain, that just means they find this story too compelling; they can relate to it on some level- and there is NOTHING wrong in that. The problem arises when one starts 'wearing' the character, adopts it & then defensively starts thinking Viraj/ Nisha/ Kabir would 'do' like you yourself would want him/ her to behave or act- and if they don't, it arises negative emotions within you- that's wrong. Pain & empathy diminishes & anger takes over. "kill the CVs".. "Burn them".. Gawsshh.. The writers gave birth to these characters which you loved, and now those emotions get shuffled! The actors may or maynot Love their character. I don't expect Tuhina to LOVE Gayatri. Haan she loves 'playing' Gayatri. That's her job! They have opinions too (hopefully). It's upto them if they wanna 'discuss' them Or ignore them to talk about some other lighter stuff. 😉

And on a separate note, it's NICE to find someone out here who's not a fan of any one. I am like you as well, atleast I strive to be. Detached. And completely carefree about the story or where it's headed! Hey, as long as the show is running right?? 😆 Cheers!
