The competition is really fierce now.. God, i'm feeling as tensed as i am abt the TV SRGMP too 😳 😆 it's going to be really tough now!!

Here's my feedback:

FOLK

Ashish - Great energy! You've controlled your vibrato a great deal. I enjoyed it a lot.

Seema - There seem to be a lot of pauses in your singing this time, which is surprising to me. You need to work a bit on breath control. The energy level was lacking as well.

Sindhu - Very nice in terms of energy and feel. High notes were edging towards falsetto, but they did not have an impact on your performance. Your diction is improving a lot, great work!

Raju - You also captured the feel of the song perfectly. You went a little off-sur in some places, but the ending was superb. You did a great deal of justice to this very difficult song.

GHAZAL

Ashish - Very calm and soothing. Beautifully sung. (not heard original)

Seema - This was much better than the folk song. At some points, you captured the emotion of the lines so perfectly that they give the listener goosebumps.

Sindhu - Technically, this is a very difficult song, but you've captured most of the details, which is commendable! Work more now on getting into the mood of the song.

Raju - This is also another difficult piece. Expressions were great! 👏

Participants please don't feel offended but I've been asked to give my critical opinions.

You have made it to the semifinals that in itself is a big achievement👏.

Ashish-

Folk - your overall Projection of voice is very good. But your notes were shaking.Josh mein Gaya but there was a lot of screeching in high notes.

Gazal- a lot better than your folk. The depth in voice was pleasing to hear. I though it was a little rushed you need a little tehrav. Your low notes were off in some places. Pitch modulation was very good.


Seema-

Folk- you needed to work on your projection. Hit the high notes straight and you have to reach the high pitch (pyar bhi hai zeher bhi hai) so there is modulation in voice that is required for the song.
Breath control should also be worked on. High notes were shakky but low notes were good.

Ghazal- pronounciation needs to be worked on but nice voice modulation. You need to work on holding your notes. The openess of the orginal song was not seen in your performance you seemed to have stifled the words.

Sindhu-

Folk- You sang the entire song on a lower scale but this way the masti of the original song was lost. Re should have been sung on a higher pitch so your mukra was flat. But your voice is still nice just the technicalities my dear.

Ghazal- You had the tehrav required for the song, notes were nicely held and the song suited your voice. Much better than your folk performance. You seemed to have lost your breath in the pitch fluctuations so you could not reach the high notes all the way (is anjuman mein Apko..). Your low notes were not in sur ...mushkil nahi kuch bhi aghar tanlijieheheh.


Aparna

Folk- The best performace in folk. Nice tehrav. Voice quality is very good there is softness and clarity. Pitch fluctuations also very nicely taken. Only thing you need to work on is projection of your high notes.

Ghazal- You have the best pitch fluctuations. Once again your high notes need to be projected more. You held the notes very nicely. There was also a little shortness of breath which I'm sure your can work on.


Raju

Folk- Nice projection of voice and voice quality. You have to work on voice modulation. At the end the song gets faster and you were not in sur during that portion. Overall an enjoyable performance.

Ghazal- Notes were nicely held. Your high notes were not in sur. Once again you need to learn how to modulate your voice in the proper way.I liked that you hit the notes straight and did not try to overdo it. Low notes very nicely taken. Sung with a lot of feel..dil se.

I've tried my best to listen carefully to all your renditions and thoughtfully analyze your strengths and weaknesses.

I thought the best renditions were by Aparna and Raju. 👏👏

In my opinion they should go to the finals.👍🏼

These songs sounded good [I'm no expert in Sur and stuff, so won't go into much detail] + first time for me to even listen to these songs...
