Jacqueline Fernandez approached for Shuddhi?
Sources say that Karan Johar is finally keen to sign the Sri Lankan beauty for his ambitious project

Jacqueline Fernandez seems to be on a roll these days. After delivering an average hit with Roy, Jacqueline will soon be seen in Brothers alongside Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra and in Rohit Dhawan's Dishoom with Varun Dhawan and John Abraham. And besides having these heavy weight projects in her kitty, sources indicate that Jacqueline has now been approached to play the female lead in Karan Johar's highly ambitious project, Shuddhi.
If the project works out then this will be Jacqueline's second film with Salman after Kick who is already signed for the male lead and a second Dharma project after Brothers. A source says, "Jacqueline has been approached for the female lead in Shuddhi. Karan seems to be keen on signing her for the film, in fact they were even discussing the project at a recent party where they had met. Jacqueline is now working out her dates for the movie."
Shuddhi will be directed by Agneepath director Karan Malhotra, and the film has been in the news for it's casting ever since it was announced. Reportedly, Hrithik Roshan was first approached for the role, however after he opted out of the project, it was later offered to Ranveer Singh who too couldn't take it up. Finally, Salman has agreed to play the male lead in the movie. Likewise, Kareena Kapoor Khan was earlier supposed to play the female lead, however after waiting for quite long for the project to kickstart she later opted out of the film. Thus a number of names have been floating since then for the coveted role of the female lead, including that of actress Deepika Padukone, however, rumour mills now suggest that Jacqueline might just bag the film.We contacted both Karan Johar and Jacqueline Fernandez seeking for a confirmation on the Shuddhi news, however, we had not heard back from them at the time of going to press.
