I find Varun to be overrated. I personally don't find him that talented and even in Badlapur I feel like he is trying way too hard to do the intense thing. Its too in your face and OTT.

I feel like he's trying to do what Sid did in EV. Even that wasn't the best but a huge improvement for Sid himself.

Nah...I don't think we will ever have any of the 3 Khans again...the era of the superstars is gone...Varun seems like a good kid...hopefully he will make his own spot in BW...but he won't even come anywhere near Salman's stardom.

Nope.

a) I dont think the stardom that the Khans have will ever be replicated. Even that is changing now. The audience rejecting the shit films that they are doing. Jai Ho and HNY, RaOne, Don 2 underperformed hugely. Varun will never be able to make trash like Ready work. If he tries he will be booted out by the audience.

b) He is better actor already than Salman

So, he is ahead in that regard. And he has barely begun his career. Again not the next Salman.

Except for Badlapur all his other roles, including the two or three upcoming projects he's more or less playing the same character, plus hit songs and good dance moves. So I can sort of see the comparison both with Salman and Govinda.

Having said that, it is way too early to make this comparison. I'm not a Salman fan at all but the man has been in the industry for more than 25 years and has given his fair share of flops and bad films and has come out of it today being among the top 3 box office earners. Varun is only 4 years and 4 movies old.

Too early and unfair to compare a few film old actor with someone who has a large body of work...having said that i don't understand when people say varun does the same thing...just because mth and hskd were both light-hearted doesn't mean they were the same...mth was otp slapstick comedy, hskd he played a goofy lover boy with a lot of emotion and there was a change in dialect...also badlpur was signed right after soty but got delayed so it's not like he saw ek villain and then rushed to try and do the same thing
