Hey all! 😃

By the time this forum got opened, my favourite show on Epic is over... Doesn't mean we can't have a thread for it.

This documentary style show was just so rich in culture - visual treat of the landscapes of India as well as learning about the food and its evolution throughout the years. I just fell in love with India a little more. (cheesy -I know :P)

I'd like to give a big thumbs up to the people behind this show and specially the direction, which has been just amazing. I'm yet to finish all the episodes.

Any viewers (current or past) of this gem of a show?

i do not remember exactly the whole episode but in one of the episodes they were showing the cuisine of banaras/kashi and there is this very interesting story behind kashi cuisine that earlier ppl used to go to kaashi only wen dey were abt to die so it was like nirvana and dey used to pray all the tym 24/7 so dey used to eat very basic n simple food like pea kachoris and potato kachoris, imarati n all.

and in one of the episodes dey showed the cuisine of gujraat and d story behind y gujaraatis use sugar/jaggery in their food. it is bcoz ppl of gujraat used be businessmen n dey used to travel long places for selling their goods so they used to get tired n needed sumthng which can give dem instant energy n thats hw dey started d use of jaggery in their food. but not all gujraati dishes are sweet.

The follow-up of this show on Epic is 'Lost Recipes'... Very similar in nature but with a host this time..

I watched two episodes till now - one on Parsis and second the East Indians from Mumbai. The recipes and methods of cooking which got lost over time were showcased..

Worth a watch, I recommend! ⭐️

Hello Sir,

Raja Rasoi aur Anya Kahaniyaan is a brilliantly made show. One of the finest I have seen. The detailed research, zeal and hard work put in to bring forth the various aspects of the food of a particular region is commendable. Hats off and a big Thank you for making the efforts and giving us a unique show. Looking forward for further episodes.
