Please Read
Note - I know that you guys are excited to know who this friend is and all but unfortunately before that I have a few things to say...
- First of all I would like to let you guys know that I'm taking an effort to update regularly but since I've been away for some time and haven't really touched this FF in awhile I hope you guys can understand and be patient with me, I can't promise when I'll update but I'll try to update once every two weeks maybe? (I hope that's okay with you guys) 😳
The thing is my brain is currently out of idea and I seem to get stuck halfway through the story whenever I start writing and I really hate that!!! It ruins my mood and I really have to brainstorm in order to come out with something. I think I really need to top up my idea bank before it empties out ... 🤔 😆
- This particular scene/track or whatever you call it is written upon a request from a dear friend of mine who said it jokingly (I think) and somehow I decided why not, let's humor her so this chapter is specially for her and finally I'm fulfilling the promise I made after so many months(but better late than never right?) 😉 😆
Anyways this is totally different from what I had in mind before. Originally, I was planning on something else but later on I decided not to go with my original plan so I wrote this instead ... Now I'm not sure which would have been better but for me I prefer this but of course I would love to know how you guys feel ... 😳
Now I won't tell you guys what I was planning on writing before this cause I don't want you guys to compare the two before reading this as both of it are totally different from each .But I will reveal the original scene I had in mind later on when I update the teaser of chapter 6 or maybe I'll reveal it only in chapter 6. 😈
- I really hope you guys like this FF and hopefully you guys can give me your honest opinion on how the story is, or even if you aren't satisfied with something do let me know so that I can improve it and all... 🤓
And a request from me but of course you don't really have to fulfill it but, I hope you guys can take some time to send me your feedbacks so that I can improve and also because your comments encourages me to keep writing and because I would like to know if this story interest you or not . 😳

Chapter 5 - The Visit Of A Dear One
Recap - A beautiful mysterious woman suddenly appears in the office asking to meet Jalal. Jodha was slightly taken aback hearing that woman call her boss as Jalal instead of Jalalludin. Upon asking who she is, she answered by saying "Just tell Jalal that his best friend is here." And since Jalal was in a meeting Jodha sent the woman to wait for him in the waiting room...
Waiting room
"Would you like to have any beverages ma'am?" Jodha asked the pretty lady.
"Just plain water will do. Thank you." The pretty lady answered.
"I'll be right back."
Jodha went to get the lady her beverage.
"Here's your beverage ma'am."
"Thank you Miss..."
"Jodha, Jodha Sharma."
"Nice to meet you Jodha, I'm Tahniat, Tahniat Ahmad. And please call me Tahni not ma'am. Ma'am sound very uhm... elderly."
"Nice to meet you too Tahni and I'm sorry for calling you ma'am. "
"It's okay. So how long have been Jalal's secretary?"
"Well, about 2 hours."
"2 hours ?! Yes of course, he's only come back to India a few days ago. You're new here?"
"No, I've been here for almost a year now. I've only started working as Mr. Muhammad's secretary today for the next 2 weeks until Mr Muhammad's secretary is appointed and sent from US."
"I see."
Tahni drinks her drink and waits for the meeting to be over while Jodha went back to her desk to continue her work.
A while later
The meeting ends and Jalal calls Jodha into his office and asks her if there was any calls or messages for him while he was in the meeting. Upon hearing from Jodha that his best friend, Tahniat has come over to meet him he rushes to the waiting room.
"Tahni?! Is that you?! What a pleasant surprise?" Jalal hugs his best friend.
"Surprise! I was around this area so I thought of dropping by to see you since I heard that you are here in India." Tahni returned his hug.
"I'm glad you came. You look stunning. What's the occasion?" He asked.
"Nothing." She blushed and continued "You look great yourself in that suit."
"Thanks. Come let's go in my office." He place his hand on Tahni's back and leads her to his office.
"Sure." She replied.
"Jodha please bring us some tea." He said as he walked pass Jodha's desk.
"Yes sir."
Jalal's office
"Wow, I still can't believe you're here in my office. How long has it been since me met? A year?"
"It really is me standing in front of you. And yes, it's been a year. Also I should be the one asking if you really came to India. Do you know how shocked I was when I heard the news that you came to India? As far as I remembered you hated it whenever anyone mentions India. And not to mention you didn't even bother to tell me you are coming here!" She fumed.
"Sorry yaar, it all happened so far and it was a last minute decision so I couldn't inform you. Anyways how are you?"
"I'm fine. And you?"
"I'm doing well."
Just then Jodha knocks the door and comes in with a tray and places it on the table saying "Excuse me, here are your teas. Sir, I've put your meetings on hold and I'll pass any urgent or important calls over to you. Now if you'll excuse me." And leaves the room while Jalal's eyes follows her until she disappears from sight.
"So? You asked her out yet?" Tahni broke the question that has been bugging her since meeting Jodha.
"What? Who are you talking about?" Jalal asked.
"Don't you act dumb now Jalal, it's obvious that you know who I'm talking about."
"Really? I wonder who you're talking about?"
"Oh come on Jalal, we both know we're talking about Jodha right now. It's the first time I've seen you looking at a woman with affection and let me be clear about one thing, it was not the friendly kind of look."
"Fine, I admit I might be attracted to her but I don't plan on having any relationship with her."
"But why? It is because she is the marriage type and you're more of the time pass type? Is that it?"
"Maybe, I don't know. She's different from all those girls I've been with and I... She's... Uhh... It's just that... I don't know Tahni. She's just so different." Jalal stammered.
"Well they do say that opposite attracts."
"Yeah but what if it's wrong. It doesn't seem right Tahni."
"Look Jalal if you like her then just go for it. Give the two of you a chance and who knows it might just work out well."
"And what if it doesn't work out? What if it is wrong?"
"Who are you and what have you done to my friend? Jalal since when did you doubt yourself? As far as I know you never I repeat NEVER EVER doubted yourself. What happened to you Jalal? Where did the overconfident Jalal that I've known all these years go?"
"I'm still the same person Tahni."
"I never said that you're a different person Jalal, I'm only saying that you have changed that's all."
"What are you trying to say Tahni?"
"What I'm trying to say is that the past you would never give a damn about breaking any girl's heart. If anyone comes on to you, you just accept their invites' and have fun' as you call it until you get tired of them and throw' them away to be never seen again. You used to be so confident that you'll get any women you want if you put in the effort so what happened now that makes you say that the two of you won't work out? And I can't seems to believe that the you who is standing in front of me right now is actually doubting himself on whether he should have a relationship with a girl that he met just what? A couple of days ago? You, the legendary Jalalludin Muhammad is actually afraid of breaking this girl's heart? Am I dreaming or is this for real?"
"Tahni, I'm serious here."
"Haan toh I'm also serious Jalal." After a pause Tahni spoke up. "Accha theek hai, are you really serious about her?"
(Yeah so, I'm also serious Jalal ... Okay fine, are you really serious about her?)
"What do you mean?" Jalal asked.
"Gosh Jalal!!! I meant are you really serious about having a relationship with her?"
"I honestly don't know Tahni!"
"Okay I'll make things easier for you, let's just say if you were to have a relationship with Jodha, what kind of relationship would that be? What I'm trying to say is will it be strictly professional like being just a boss and a secretary , or will it be like all those flings you had or will it be something else, something much more then what you have right now?"
"She's not just a fling. That I'm sure of."
"And what about colleague Jalal?"
"I want much more than just to be her boss Tahni. Damn it I'm attracted to her , how can I just throw that to a side and ignore the fact that I'm attracted to her and just treat her as a secretary?!" After a taking in a deep breath Jalal continued "But Tahni, do you really think that the two of us can work out? I mean if I were to take a chance and go for it, do you think that it will be a good thing to do?"
"Saach batao Jalal, mujhe nahii bataa. But that's the best thing about life hain naa? We can never know what will happen next or if the person we're attracted to is the right person or not until we do something about it. If the two of you are meant to be then everything will fall in place when the time comes Jalal. But of course you have to take a chance, a risk whatever you name it. Be the confident Jalalludin Muhammad that I know, if you really like her give the two of you a chance do your best to make your relationship work and who knows it might just be the best thing that's going to happen to you. "
(To be honest Jalal, I don't know. But that's the best thing about life right?)
"Give the two of us a chance huh."
"Yes. Besides Jodha is really a good person."
"How can you tell by just one meeting with her?"
"I just know it Jalal, call it female intuition or anything you want but I can assure you that you won't regret it. Not when the other person is Jodha."
"You're so sure about this aren't you?" He chuckles.
"Yes I am. But Jalal before you decide on anything, just be clear on how you really feel about Jodha. Whether what you feel for her is lust or something else. Take as much time as you need to figure it out, there's no hurry Jalal. But just promise me one thing."
"What promise Tahni?"
"Promise me that you won't break her heart Jalal. I know how painful it is when someone breaks your heart and I really don't want Jodha to through that."
"Tahni, I'm really ..." Jalal tried to explain but Tahni interrupted him saying
"No Jalal, I didn't mean it that way. What I meant was that I don't want Jodha to experience the same pain I did and please don't feel bad about it Jalal. There's no point bringing up the past because what matters is the future not the past. Besides I should be thanking you as if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have met him."
"I'm really happy that you met him Tahni. He's a really nice guy."
"I know Jalal, and I also wish that someday you'll meet someone who heals you, someone who completes you. That person could be Jodha or it could be someone else but when that time comes when you meet her don't let her slip away Jalal. I want you to be happy and that's all that matters to me Jalal."
"Thank you Tahni. After what happened between us, you still care about me."
"Of course I care about you Jalal, you're my best friend." She winked at him.
"And you are my best friend Tahni." They hugged each other.
"It's getting late I should really get going now." They started walking towards the door when Tahni stopped "Just a tip Jalal, no matter what happens trust your heart as it knows best about what you want."
Later that day
Jalal stood at the same place he dropped Jodha yesterday looking above at Jodha's house thinking of how Jodha ran down from her house to ask why he was still waiting there and upon being answered points towards her house "My house is that one, 5th floor, 2nd house from the right." She had said. Jalal started thinking back about what took place the past few days starting from his first meeting with Jodha at the bus stop, followed by their second meeting where he returned Jodha's office pass to her, their third meeting where she find out who he is to being appointed as his temporary secretary.
*What is it about her that makes me think of her all the time* He pondered *What's so special about her? I don't think of her as all those women was for me then what is she to me? I don't consider her as only a colleague do I? If she was only a colleague then I wouldn't be attracted to her would I? Damn it, why is it so tough for me to figure out what this feeling is? There's definitely the attraction but why do I feel that there's something more to it? To us, if there is even an 'us'. Heck I never had it this tough even when I crack a deal!!! I really need time to figure out what is it that I want with Jodha.* Jalal took a deep breath before getting in his car thinking to himself that tonight is going to be a very long night for him .
