Well i can give a justified answer only after watching today's episode as its really wrong for anyone to jump to conclusions with the sneak peeks and news.

But for now I can say that all gautam fans agreed that whatever Ali told Gautam was crass, cheap and below the belt. At the same time, I say that Gautam was so vulnerable and tired in that situation that he could not react normally in any way. Had this been a casual conversation and ali had hit him below the belt, I am sure gautam would have never had such an outburst because he's pretty strong that way and has taken all ali's previous provocations with a smile on his face and by singing and not getting affected.

This situation however was different. We all took a stand for ali's cheap behavior specially when he can see how much suffering a person is going through in the task. This was due to the tiredness of the task that gautam's reacted was augmented. I know he wouldn't have reacted like this otherwise. So i would also accept like he did that his reaction was not calm. But that was only due to the task and how tired, vulnerable, fatigued and stressful it made him.
