Note:- This is my first attempt at writing a short story .These are not extracts from the original mahabharat.
Yudhisthir and Draupadi SS: A Tale of Beautiful Companionship
PART 1
After the mahabharat war...
Pandavas and draupadi were set to leave for Hastinapur .Samrat Yudhisthir is sitting in a tent lost in his thoughts. He thought of everyone he lost in dharm-yudh. He did not know whether he will be a good king for the people of hastinapur and Aryavartha. Just then Samaragini Draupadi comes into the tent fully dressed up with her
hair tied and choodmani in it.
She looked at her aryaa who she can sense is in a great confusion and sorrow."arya aap kya Soch rahe ho?" asked panchali[What are you thinking ?]
"mein yeh Soch rahe panchali ki is dharma stapana ki Yudh mei hum sabh ne sabko koya hai.maan karta hei ki Samrajya ka tygya karke vana mei puri jivan shanti se bitaou paramei aisa nahi kar sakta hu" said Yudhisthir .[I was thinking that for this war of Dharma establishment we lost everyone.I wish I could renounce this kingdom and spend my entire life peacefully in forest but I can't do that Panchali]
" mei apki dukh ko samaj sakti hu samarat karthvya kabhi kabhi peeda detha hai iska matlab yeh nahi hota ki hum apne karthvya ko tygya kare"said samaragini.
[ I can understand your pain King. Sometimes duty can be painful but it does not mean we should sacrifice our duty]
"yeh tum sahi kahe rahi ho panchali"said samrat.[You are telling right Panchali.]
"apka karthvya hai ki aap aryavartha aur hastinapur ki praja ko justice aur santosh dena hai.mei toh apne Aryavatha ki samaragini hone ka karthvya nibavungi"said samaragini.[Your duty is to give justice and happiness to Aryavart and Hastinapur's people. I will do my duty of being Aryavart's queen ]
Samarat Yudhisthir is staring at his wife not surprised that he knows she will do her duty.
He is still staring at her. Seeing her husband staring at her panchali
"aap mujhe aisa kyu dekh rahe ho arya?"[Why are you looking at me like that?] "mei yeh dekh raha hu panchali ki tum itna shanti se kartvya ko nibbane ke bare mein baat kaise kar sakti ho jab tumhare apne parivaar walo ki mrithyu hua hai? Unke mrithyu se tumko bohot peeda hoi rahi hogi na panchali." said Yudhisthir .
[ I am looking that how can you be so peaceful talking about fulfilling our duty when we lost our family members Panchali? You must be in a lot of pain over their deaths]
"hai arya itna peeda ki sabdo mei batana mushkil hai paranthu mera chinta mera bare mei nahi hai. Mei tho apki aur aryaputra bheem,arjun,nakul aur sahadeva ke bare soch Soch kar chinta mei doobgayi hui"saying this Panchali looks at her husband with a worried expression
[I am feeling pain which I can not describe in words but I am not worried for myself. I am worried about you, Bheem,Arjun,Nakul and Sahadev]
Seeing this Yudhisthira said " Tum hamare bare mei itna chinta maat karo paranthu kabi laghata ki kya rahe gaya hai jine ke liye panchali?"
[Do not worry about us but sometimes I feel what what is there to live for Panchali?]
"Aasha hai arya . Hamara umdi abhimanyu ki hone wale santhan, vrishaketu, pragiti aur suthanu mei hai. Govind ne kaha ki jab tak ek vyakti ke jivan mei Aasha hai tab usse vyakti Ke jivan ek naye josh atti hai Jine ke liye. Ab humhe te karna hai ki hum naye Aasha ke saath jeevan ko agee badna hai ki yah phir koi naye Aasha ke bagre saare jeevam ko dukh se bitna hai. Mei toh ek naye Aasha ke saath apne jeevan bitne ki nirnay liye hai.Apke kya nirnay hai arya?"
[ There is hope. Our hope lies in Abhimanyu's unborn child,Vrishaketu,Pragatti and Suthanu. Govind told that when person has a new hope, then that person will have passion to live. We have to now decide to live with new hope moving forward or else live our life in sadness without any new hope. I have decided to live my life with a new hope. what is your decision?]
