Episode 1: Welcome to the Jungle Jail
It was eight in the morning in the city of Mumbai. And that too a Monday. Which could mean one thing. It was the fresh start of a new week of school for many students across the country. But our focus came down into the metropolitan city of Mumbai. And in this busy city, there was one particular school where a whole new life was about to begin for one ordinary girl.
And here's where we come to Dhingra High School, founded by the late Randhir Dhingra. It was in front of this school where a girl was just about to begin her day. She stepped out of a fancy Porsche car and let out a sigh as she looked at the front of the school. The girl brushed aside her long raven black hair and straightened her red dupatta which matched well with her salwar kameez. Who was this girl?
"Riddhi." a voice said from the car. The girl turned around as a man dressed in a blue suit stepped out of the car.
And that was her name...Riddhi. Full name: Riddhi Sahay. And the man who had stepped out of the car was none other than her father, Rajveer Sahay.
Mr. Sahay stood next to Riddhi, looking up at the school building.
"How do you feel?" Mr. Sahay asked Riddhi.
"Papa, you know the answer to that."
"I know. Its okay. But what can we do? This is the only school could you transfer to around here."
"Its okay, Papa. I'll manage."
"I know you will. You're my strong little girl!"
"Papa! I'm not a kid anymore."
"For me, you'll always be. Anyways, try to make this a good first day. Who knows? Maybe something good can come out of today."
"Yeah right."
Mr. Sahay gave Riddhi a hug and then left in his car. Riddhi sighed again, looking upon the school. Well, Riddhi...let's do this, Riddhi thought to herself.
And so, Riddhi made the first step inside the school building. As she commenced walking, she tried to avoid the many wandering students who lingered around the halls.
I can't really be harsh on Papa, Riddhi thought to herself as she continued walking. But seriously?! I go from the most prestigious high school in the city to possibly the worst one. Everyone knows about the reputation of this school. Its screamed out throughout these halls. But what else could Papa do? After losing his job at Infosys, he had to transfer to another company. And this was the closest school to home and the only one we can afford now! So I'll have to deal with my last two years of high school in this dingy torture cell! Let the trauma begin!
Riddhi continued walking till she reached room 103. Then, she entered inside the classroom to find the other students had seated down while the teacher sat at his desk. The teacher stood from his seat, putting on his large square shaped glasses. "Yes?" the teacher asked.
"Um...I'm Riddhi Sahay...the new student." Riddhi said.
"Oh yes! Ms. Sahay! Nice to have another scholarly student at this otherwise non-scholarly school! I'm Mr. Malik, your Physics teacher."
"Nice to meet you."
"Same! Any preference on where to sit?"
"No, I'm fine anywhere."
"Okay then. Why don't you go ahead and sit in the row with Aditya Sehgal and Nikkita Patel?!" Mr. Malik pointed out to the third row where a boy and a girl were seated on both ends of the row. "And class, continue reading chapter five in your books!" Riddhi nodded her head and then went ahead to the row. At the right end of the row was Aditya. Aditya seemed like a very well groomed boy. He had firmly cut hair, and wore a black tie with a matching green dress shirt, paired with jeans and black dress shoes. On the left end of the row was Nikkita. Nikkita had a much more different looking appearance. She had medium length brown black hair with maroon colored streaks. As for her dressing, she wore a plain purple plaid shirt with blue jeans and sneakers. And then, Riddhi came and sat down right in between the two.
Riddhi remained quiet in her seat while Aditya and Nikkita both looked at her as she got her books out. "Hi." Aditya and Nikkita greeted Riddhi in whispering tones. Riddhi turned to both of them, surprised. "Hi." Riddhi said.
Twenty minutes had passed since the students were reading. That was when Mr. Malik called the classes' attention.
"All right! Since you all read really hard, can someone explain to me the concept of momentum?" Mr. Malik asked. "After all, you all are going to be quizzed on this? Anyone? How about you, Pinky?!"
Pinky was the girl sitting in the back row who was doing her makeup up until she heard her name.
"Huh?" Pinky asked.
"What is momentum?" Mr. Malik asked.
"Shouldn't you tell me that?!" Pinky asked. "You're the teacher."
"Good thought! After all, you're the student! But as a student...you should be paying attention! Not getting ready for the runway!" Mr. Malik shouted. "Now...answer my question!"
"Okay, okay!" Pinky exclaimed as she then put away her makeup in her purse. "What was it again?"
"Momentum!" Mr. Malik screamed.
"Oh yeah! I know this!" Pinky exclaimed. "Or do I?"
"Sir, I think her brain fizzled out!" Chintu, the boy who sat next to PInky, laughed.
"Does anyone have an answer to my question?!" Mr. Malik asked in a frustrated voice.
Immediately, Riddhi raised her hand. "Yes, Ms. Sahay?" Mr. Malik called on Riddhi.
"Sir, momentum is simply the product of mass and velocity on an object."
"Could you provide an example to the class?"
"Here's an example," Riddhi began. "If you have a heavy truck moving rapidly that has a large momentum, then it takes a large or prolonged force to get the truck up to this speed, and it takes a large or prolonged force to stop it afterwards. Case would be different with a lighter truck moving slowly as it would have less momentum."
"Very good, Ms. Sahay! Students, you must all learn from our new student!"
Aditya and Nikkita gave each other a look while Riddhi focused on the board as Mr. Malik began writing down notes.
After the first three classes, Riddhi left the classroom of her English class. As she left, Aditya and Nikkita followed her from behind and then caught up with her and said, "Hi again!"
"Hi." Riddhi greeted.
"We didn't properly introduce ourselves in physics class earlier today." Aditya said.
"I'm Nikkita!" Nikkita greeted Riddhi as she shook her hand. "You can call me Nikki."
"Hi, Nikki!" Riddhi shook Nikkita's hand back.
"And I'm Aditya." Aditya introduced to Riddhi as he shook her hand.
"We all call him Adi!" Nikkita said.
"Only you do!" Aditya retorted.
"Well now she can!" Nikkita talked back. "So...what do you think of our school?"
"Oh!" Riddhi beamed. "Well, its..."
"Don't worry! We know this school sucks." Nikkita said.
"What Nikki means to say is...we understand you may not be comfortable with this kind of school." Aditya told Riddhi.
"And to think I thought I wouldn't find any normal people at this school!" Riddhi said.
"We're the minority. But who cares!" Nikkita exclaimed. "In fact, why don't you hang out with us in the study hall?"
"Don't we have class?" Riddhi asked.
"For us its free hour. And right after is lunch anyway. So, two hours of free time before our next classes." Aditya explained.
"Since you're new, its not like you have to do anything important now," Nikkita said. "So what's say?"
"Okay." Riddhi agreed.
"Great! Let's go!" Nikkita exclaimed.
And so, Riddhi, Aditya, and Nikkita headed into the study hall where they chatted to pass the time.
"So that's why you came here?" Aditya asked.
"Yep. Dad got a new job near here. So I had no other choice." Riddhi said.
"That must suck! But its all okay now!" Nikkita assured. "We'll be around so you won't feel as weird around here."
"Besides, its nice to meet someone like you for a change at this school." Aditya said.
"Someone like me?" Riddhi asked.
"Think about it. After the past two and a half hours you have been at this school, what kind of people have you encountered?" Nikkita asked Riddhi.
"Let's see," Riddhi said. "Wandering fools, lingering idiots, airheads, pranksters, and those kids that run around like this is some theme park."
"Great observation." Aditya said.
"And that's what this school is! Its pretty much a jungle here." Nikkita told Riddhi.
"How so?" Riddhi asked.
"I'll be right back." Aditya said as he then went down across the hall, taking out his cellphone.
"Trust me. The longer you stay here, the more you'll experience the wildness of this place." Nikkita explained.
"Have you been here since ninth grade?" Riddhi asked.
"Yup! Me and Adi have known each other since middle school. Once we came here we became friends. I don't talk much to many people otherwise," Nikkita continued. "But you're fine to me. At least you're one of the few people who hasn't spoken to me asking 'Is that your natural hair color?' !"
"And what kind of people ask you that?" Riddhi asked.
"Mostly the airheads." Nikkita replied.
"Nikki!" Aditya called as he came back towards both Riddhi and Nikkita. "Shall we go?"
"Go where?" Riddhi asked.
"Actually, we want you to meet someone." Nikkita said.
"Who?" Riddhi asked.
"You'll see." Nikkita smiled.
And so, Riddhi curiously followed Aditya and Nikkita down the halls of the school. As they went through, Riddhi tried to avoid the many hooligans and lingerers that scattered across the halls.Nikki's right. This school is practically a jungle, Riddhi thought to herself. Riddhi, Aditya, and Nikkita had arrived to what appeared to be a secret door next to the teachers lounge. What was so secret about it? The fact that it had a weird keypad on the front of the door. Aditya then punched him in some numbers on the keypad and the door then opened. Aditya and Nikkita entered inside the room while Riddhi came in, feeling cautious.
The room looked like an office. However, to Riddhi's eyes, it was a bit weird looking on. There were many tree plants surrounding the walls of the office. And right at the office desk was a man, whose head was turned away from the trio, sitting in a green velvet chair. Nothing seemed odd about him, besides the fact he held a banana in his other hand.
"You're here." the man said.
"Yes, we are." Aditya replied.
"Did you bring her?" the man asked.
"She's here too." Nikkita answered.
Riddhi gave a puzzled face, curious to see the man's face. The man then swiveled his chair, turning to the trio. Riddhi became even more puzzled, seeing the man's complete appearance. Not only did he wear a green suit, but he wore a necktie with gorillas printed on it. "Who's this?" Riddhi asked Nikkita in a whispering tone.
"This...is the dean of this school," Nikkita whispered back. "Dean Rahul Kapur." Riddhi's eyes beamed in surprise. Dean?! Riddhi asked herself. This guy is the dean of this school?! But he's so...! Well...then again...it kinda fits! Anyways, show some respect!
"Oh!" Riddhi exclaimed. "I'm so sorry! Its a pleasure to meet you, sir."
"SIR?!" Dean Rahul Kapur screamed as he stood from his desk, intimidating Riddhi.
Aditya and Nikkita put their hands to their faces, while Riddhi stood, startled as a squirrel.
"In this school...no one calls me by my name or by sir!" Dean Rahul Kapur exclaimed.
"Why?" Riddhi asked.
"Sir is too gentle for a man of my stature!" Dean Rahul Kapur answered, throwing his banana into the trash can as if it were a basketball. "In this school, if you ever address me by name, you call me one name only!"
"And that is what?" Riddhi asked.
The dean then jumped onto his desk, startling Riddhi again, and then raised his hands upward, saying loud and proud, "KING KONG!"
Riddhi raised her eyebrows at the sight of the dean posing right on top of his desk. "Is this some sort of joke?" Riddhi asked Aditya.
"Trust me. We're used to this behavior." Aditya said.
"I think you've scared her enough!" Nikkita told the dean.
"Its okay. Sometimes you expect the unexpected," Riddhi said. "May I ask though...why King Kong?"
"I wanted to call myself the Lion King!" Dean Rahul Kapur exclaimed. "But Snoop Dogg already took it!"
"Snoop Dogg?" Riddhi said. "He brings Snoop Dogg into this?"
"Don't ask!" Nikkita told Riddhi.
Dean Rahul Kapur then jumped back into his chair. He then took out a file folder which had Riddhi's name on it and opened it. "So...you're Riddhi Sahay?" Dean Rahul Kapur asked.
"Yes."
"Great to have a bright student here among all the dim wits in this school! Your file says everything!"
"Says what?"
"Lots of things. You won first prize at the national science fair in Mumbai for the past three years. You were one of the top ten students at your previous school. And you even won a gold medal for a painting you submitted for the scholastic art competition."
"We told you she's a smart cookie!" Nikkita smiled.
"She is!" Dean Rahul Kapur exclaimed. "Which is why she's perfect!"
"Perfect for what?" Riddhi asked.
"Come with us. We're going to show you something special of ours." Dean Rahul Kapur said.
"But isn't it almost lunch time?" Riddhi asked.
"Don't worry! You'll be able to eat later." Aditya said.
"Um...okay then." Riddhi said.
Dean Rahul Kapur then got up and took out a key from his desk. He moved aside one of his tall tree plants which revealed a hidden door behind. The dean then opened the door with the key and entered inside to what appeared to be a downstairs passage way. Aditya, Nikkita, and Riddhi followed him down, while Aditya closed the door. Riddhi looked around the dim lighted hall, unsure of the surroundings...and more importantly, where this was all leading up to.
As the group made their way down, they came across another door. Riddhi looked at its odd appearance as it appeared to be covered with vines. "Now, what we are about to show you is top secret." Dean Rahul Kapur told Riddhi.
"So don't be surprised if this seems even more weird to you." Aditya added.
"Wait!" Riddhi exclaimed. "What is all this?"
The dean then opened the vine covered door. "Welcome...to the Jungle Jail!" Nikkita greeted waving her hand to what lied inside. Riddhi stepped inside the room with her mouth dropped wide open. The room was none other than the basement of the school. However, it had some weird touches to it. On one side of the room was a large jail like cellar where Riddhi noticed two tough looking guys were hanging around inside, playing with the vines that entangled the cell bars. There were tall trees with even more vines surrounding the basement walls. In addition, there appeared to be a work out station, with weights and rugs set up. Also nearby was what appeared to be a front desk with a vine covered file cabinet behind it.
"What the heck is this place?!" Riddhi asked. "Why did you bring me here?! And what's this Jungle Jail all about?!"
"We'll explain everything to you." Aditya said.
"But first, we have some business to take care of," Dean Rahul Kapur said. "Nikki, you know the drill."
Nikkita nodded and then went to cellar where the two guys were inside. She took out some keys from her jeans pocket and opened the cell door. "Walk!" Nikkita ordered.
The two guys slowly walked as Nikkita pointed them towards the front desk. Once they cooperated, Nikkita came to the front desk and opened the file cabinet, taking out two file folders. "All right!" Nikkita exclaimed as she took out a pen and began marking notes in the folders. "Since you two thought it was okay to beat up Monty Sharma and tie him up on the flag pole, you both will continue to be on probation for the next three weeks."
"What?!" one of the guys gasped. "But-"
"Shut up!" Nikkita shouted. "Either do as told...or I could bring an even better probation officer for you guys!"
"No! No! We're fine!" the other guy exclaimed.
"Good. So for three weeks, you both will be assisting Monty till he gets better from his injuries," Nikkita ordered. "If your behavior is good till then, then I'll remove you both from probation. Clear?"
The two boys nodded their heads.
"Good. You can leave now." Nikkita said.
Nikkita watched as the two boys quietly made their way up the main basement staircase.
"Who were they?" Riddhi asked.
"Bittu Bose and Bikram Bose," Nikkita replied. "Those two have been on probation for the past two weeks since they beat up a student with a ketchup bottle."
"Probation?! Okay! I'm getting even more confused! What is all this?!" Riddhi asked. "You guys aren't telling me anything!"
"All right," Dean Rahul Kapur said. "Adi...Nikki..give her the details."
"The basement of our school is completely dedicated to the Jungle Jail." Nikkita started.
"This idea was all King Kong's," Aditya continued. "You know the reputation of Dhingra High School. Its possibly one of the worst schools in the city. Why? Because of the many troublemakers, delinquents, and other students who wreck havoc in this school!"
"King Kong became the new head of the school since mid last year. And so, he came up with this idea. If you want students to become more well behaved, we have to take care of the worst ones in order to reform the ones that aren't up to the same level. And hence, the Jungle Jail was born," Nikkita continued. "Since the beginning of this school year, me and Adi were assigned by King Kong to become probation officers for the Jungle Jail."
"Probation officers?" Riddhi asked.
"Yeah," Aditya said. "Basically, we monitor the top troublemakers of this school and they become our clients. Whenever they commit any school crime, we bring them here for some time in the cellar of the Jungle Jail. After that, we as probation officers, give them tasks to do to make up for their misdeeds such as community service or tough time in the workout station over here. In addition, we have to monitor their activities and makes sure they behave. Otherwise, we further them with more tasks and continue to have them under probation until further notice."
"I see," Riddhi said. "So you mean to say that you two are the only probation officers in this school?"
"Actually, no," Nikkita said. "There's also-"
"YOU COME HERE, YOU LITTLE RUNT!" a voice yelled from outside of the basement. The group turned around to see the basement door kicked wide open. Who kicked it? It was a tough looking girl, who was holding onto a boy by his ear. The girl had long, messy black hair and wore a black leather jacket, a gray shirt, black jeans with silver chains attached to them, and black combat boots. On the other hand, there was the boy, who had short black hair and was dressed in a Pokemon T-shirt, blue jeans, and neon blue sneakers with neon yellow colored laces.
"Not again." Aditya said, rolling his eyes.
"Speak of the devil." Nikkita said.
"Tell her to let go of my ear!" the boy screamed at Nikkita and Aditya as the girl continued to drag him in the room.
"I SWEAR! WHEN I'M DONE WITH YOU, NO PLASTIC SURGEON WILL BE ABLE TO FIX YOU!" the girl screamed at the boy as she dragged him towards the cellar.
"Adi, you know the drill." Dean Rahul Kapur told Aditya. Aditya nodded.
"Dish! Fish!" Aditya called out to the girl. The girl's eyes beamed as she then dropped the boy on the floor and turned around with Aditya throwing a red fish shaped candy into her mouth. After which, she seemed to cool down from the incredible temper she had arrived with, which confused Riddhi.
"Uh...who's this?" Riddhi asked.
"Oh! This is Disha. Disha Dogra," Nikkita replied. "She's the other probation officer I was about to mention."
"And what did you just give her?" Riddhi asked Aditya.
"Oh these! They're Swedish Fish, Disha's favorite candy," Aditya answered. "Whenever she's in a high level of her aggressive mode, I calm her down with these."
"And the only way to call her is if Adi says, 'Dish! Fish!'." Nikkita added.
"Disha, meet Riddhi." Aditya introduced Disha to Riddhi.
"Hi." Disha said as she shook Riddhi's hand, crushing it real good while she munched on her Swedish Fish.
"Wow!" Riddhi said, feeling the pain in her hand as she drew it away. "That's some handshake!"
"Riddhi you said it was?" Disha asked.
"Yeah." Riddhi replied.
"I'm gonna call you Ridz." Disha said.
"Why?" Riddhi asked.
"It sounds like Ritz. And I love Ritz!" Disha replied.
"Ritz?" Riddhi asked.
"Ritz Crackers!" Disha exclaimed as she then went ahead and put the boy inside the cellar.
"She's a foodie. Deal with it." Nikkita told Riddhi.
"And who's this guy?" Riddhi asked.
"This here is Luv Malhotra," Aditya introduced as he stood next to the boy as he stood behind bars. "He's possibly the worst client we have around here."
"How so?" Riddhi asked.
"He's been here since the first day of school," Nikkita replied. "And he fails to reform since then! Even when we were freshmen, he was the worst troublemaker around! As for us, he's the only client who has had to change probation officers consistently! And even Dish here can't control him any longer!"
"Would you guys quit making me look like some deadly criminal or something?!" Luv shouted.
"Quiet!" Aditya ordered. "Anyways, all three of us can't take him any longer. We already have other clients to deal with."
"And that's where you come in." Dean Rahul Kapur told Riddhi.
"Meaning?" Riddhi asked.
"As of today, I assign you to be Luv Malhotra's new probation officer." Dean Rahul Kapur ordered.
"Huh?!" Riddhi exclaimed in shock.
"You three try to calm her down from the shock. I have to go back to the office," Dean Rahul Kapur told Aditya, Nikkita, and Disha. "Good day!"
And so, the dean made his way out of the basement through the secret door and left. Riddhi stood in complete shock.
"Me?! A probation officer?!" Riddhi exclaimed. "No way! I can't do this!"
"Of course you can!" Nikkita told Riddhi.
"Oh please! None of you losers has been able to handle me this whole time!" Luv exclaimed. "And now you expect this Arrowhead to take the job?!"
Riddhi's eyes then beamed. She turned around to Luv with an angry look on her face and then went up towards Luv. "What did you just call me?!" Riddhi asked angrily.
"You have a sharp looking forehead!" Luv exclaimed. "So I called you Arrowhead!"
"Who do you think you are to call me an Arrowhead?!" Riddhi shouted. "I've known you for barely two minutes and you're already calling me names! You have some kind of nerve! I swear I'll-"
Before Riddhi could continue ranting, Aditya pulled her away before she could possibly attack Luv and seated her in front of the front desk. "Cool down!" Aditya told Riddhi.
"How can I cool down when that idiot just called me Arrowhead?!" Riddhi shouted.
"Relax!" Nikkita exclaimed.
"That right there settles it! There's no way I'll become his probation officer!" Riddhi said.
"At least let us further explain things around here." Aditya said.
"So, Ridz...do you have any questions?" Disha asked as she took a bite from a ham and cheese sandwich that she had in her hand.
"Just one question before I leave this nightmare," Riddhi said. "Where does the name Jungle Jail even come from?"
"Great question! We have an answer!" Aditya beamed.
"Remember how I told you how this school is basically like a jungle?" Nikkita asked Riddhi.
"Yeah." Riddhi replied.
"It pretty much is. Hence, before we even began the Jungle Jail, we made sure we were able to classify the students of this school." Aditya said.
"And that means?" Riddhi asked.
Aditya then drew out a large white paper that had a pyramid drawn on it with labeled sections. "This right here is the Jungle Pyramid," Aditya explained. "The three of us created the Jungle Pyramid in order to classify the many creatures of this school."
"So just like there's a food pyramid for grouping foods...we have the Jungle Pyramid for grouping species of students into species of animals." Disha added.
"So let's start from the very bottom of the hierarchy. At the bottom, we have the mice," Nikkita pointed out to the bottom of the pyramid at the lowest level which showed pictures of mice. "The mice are basically the students that are the weakest of the weak. They're the most helpless ones in the school and the only thing they can do to escape trouble is scurry around and hope for survival. The only thing we have to worry about is keeping them out of danger. Otherwise, they don't pose as a threat."
"Trouble begins to brew when we move onto the next level...the snakes," Aditya said as he pointed to the next level on the pyramid where snakes were drawn on. "The snakes mainly consist of the gossipers, the sassy girls etc. They may seem harmless. But they're really not! They slither around the school, digging for dirt and gossip wherever they go. Once they find it, they spread it around like venom. Because they're so sneaky, we can't do much about them."
"More trouble continues when we go to the next level...the chimps," Disha pointed out to the next level on the pyramid which was labeled with chimp drawings. "The chimps are the mini devils of this school. They're basically the short time pranksters who basically do nothing but fool around in the halls. We could take care of them, but we have better prey to handle before them."
"And that's where our job kicks in with the next level...the monkeys," Nikkita said as she moved her finger to the next level on the pyramid labeled with monkey drawings. "The monkeys are the evolved forms of the chimps. They don't just monkey around. They act like buffoons and litter the school with their high level pranks and trouble making business. We try our best to handle them well."
"After the monkeys, we have the bears," Disha moved her hand to the next level on the pyramid that had bear drawings on it. "The bears are more dangerous than the monkeys. Rather than causing havoc, they're the tough guys that go around and beat the pulp out students or simply get into good old fights. Our job is to tame them."
"We we're really close to classifying Disha as a bear." Aditya told Riddhi.
"But her aggressiveness proved to be a lot better controlled thanks to the Swedish Fish." Nikkita said.
"And here's where our classification comes in the next level...the lions," Aditya pointed to the next level of the pyramid with lions drawn on it. "The lions are the proud and most tamed and well groomed beasts of the jungle. They're the kind of students who are well mannered and behaved and known how to take control or the scholarly students who are highly talented in any given field and are proud of it. Which means this can include students ranging from science and math capabilities to talents lying in the performing arts."
"And last, but certainly not least, we have the high and mighty of the jungle. Because he's the only one classified in this level. And that's King Kong," Nikkita drew her finger to the top level of the pyramid where a gorilla's face was drawn. "And this is where our dean lies. He rules the jungle...as King Kong."
"I thought the lion was the king of the jungle." Riddhi said.
"In The Lion King, yes. In Jungle Jail, no," Aditya replied. "Our jungle is much more different. And now you know where you're classified."
"Because you're such a smart student, you instantly hold lion status." Nikkita said.
"Uh...thanks." Riddhi said.
"And that's what sums up our school. Hence, we have the Jungle Jail to keep the top beasts in control." Disha said.
"Whatever," Riddhi rolled her eyes. "There's nothing in the world that can make me become a probation officer for Monkey Boy!"
"Who you calling Monkey Boys?!" Luv shouted from the cellar.
"How'd you know he's been classified as a monkey?" Nikkita asked.
"I could tell from the monkey face of his!" Riddhi exclaimed.
"Hey!" Luv shouted.
"And his status hasn't changed since." Nikkita said.
"Meaning?" Riddhi asked.
"Once you've been classified in the Jungle Pyramid, your status can change depending on behavior changes," Aditya explained. "For example, one of my clients was classified as a bear. And once he did all the community service and cooled down a bit, his status melted down to chimp. That itself is better."
"Well then...thanks for all the info. But I should get going." Riddhi said as she got up from her seat and was just about to leave.
"There is one more additional thing!" Aditya called out.
"Whatever it is, its not going to make me become a probation officer!" Riddhi retorted.
"Are you sure about that?" Nikkita asked.
"Its quite interesting actually." Aditya said.
"What is it?" Riddhi asked.
"There's a great perk to becoming a probation officer since not many of the lions in the school are willing to commit. If only they knew the deal King Kong has," Aditya began. "It basically works like this. Once you become a probation officer, you'll have to stay as one until you graduate. And if you are able to do so, King Kong ensures you with full scholarship to any college of your choice in the country."
Riddhi's mouth dropped wide open after Aditya finished speaking. Her eyes beamed in surprise. "Full scholarship?!" Riddhi asked.
"That's right." Disha smirked.
"King Kong is actually a much more richer man that he may seem." Nikkita said.
"So...are you still passing the opportunity?" Aditya asked.
Riddhi remained still and silent, lost in thoughts. What do I do?! I really don't want to be a probation officer for Monkey Boy over there! Riddhi thought to herself. But this is an opportunity to get full scholarship to any college I want! That's free money! And considering dad's situation, this would make things so much easier for him! I can't pass that up! But it would mean having to babysit that brat! Well...everything has an opportunity cost to it! And this is something I can't pass up! So Riddhi...you're gonna have to buck up and just do it!
"Well, Ridz?" Disha asked.
Riddhi took a deep breath. She then walked towards Luv, who looked at her with intimidation. She looked at him straight in the eyes and said, "Listen, Monkey Boy! I'm probably the sharpest person you've ever met! Hence, you call me Arrowhead! But now I'm gonna show how sharp I can be!"
Luv rolled his eyes.
Riddhi then turned to Aditya, Nikkita, and Disha. "All right then!" Riddhi exclaimed. "I'm ready to become a probation officer!"
The trio smiled, seeing Riddhi's new enthusiasm. "Great," Aditya smiled. "Welcome to the Jungle Jail."
