Arzoo toh badi ho gayi. In one night itself, Sahir allowed her to grow up and how! Sahir is such an appealing anti-hero. Yes, it is hard to love him completely, because he is so menacingly ambitious. And it is hard to hate him, because he is so innocently damaged and pessimistic about life. And I love that he is not perfect. Perfect men are like unicorns anyway. Everyone loves the idea of one, but knows they don't exist :P
The almost vicious way in which Sahir makes Arzoo agree to the deal sent shivers down my spine. MY heart went out to Arzoo. Imagine being the girl who loves this guy so much, but now sees the dark and burnt side of him that makes her hate him. But she is already in love, so how can she hate him now? Imagine, being in that paradox. And then this man becomes your husband. Should she give in to her heart and just accept the good side that she saw and be happy that she is married to the one she loves? Or should she always remember the cruelty with which he imposed this nikaah on her, without any love, but only for a deal? Can she ever make peace with that? Oh, poor poor Arzoo. Can't live with or without him. Ultimate dilemma to be in.
And now, she has turned the tables on him. She will show him what it's like to be mean and cold. It's his turn now to be on the opposite side of the fence, where he is not playing the game, but his heart is being played by the one he loves. He loves her, yet he cannot confess to her. He loves her, yet his heart stops him from doing so openly. He loves her, yet he doesn't believe in it. He loves her, yet to keep her safe from him, he has to show his hatred. What a dilemma for poor Sahir.
The hurt in his eyes at seeing her burnt legs, the pain that he felt when she twitched in pain. The softness with which he tends to her feet, and carries her in his arms. The way she gets the feels when his hand touches her bracelet. The eyelock they have when he puts her down on the bed. Those couple of moments when they both forgot the deal and only wanted to believe the love they saw beneath all that hate. But, they both snapped right back. Arzoo, telling him curtly that she doesn't need him. Sahir giving it back to her by saying he can make a scene if he wants and to listen to him chup chaap.
The episode was so perfect in showing the complicated equation they both are stuck in now. Love each other, but pretending to hate each other, because of their own reasons. Will they ever be able to come out of this web of lies, deceit and anger? Arzoo becoming a mean, money minded machine may give Sahir a glimpse into how he has become and how others see him. He may turn soft like Arzoo and she may turn ambitious like Sahir. Both painting each other in their own glow, and both becoming like the other. Literally, they are one now.
Excited to see this dilemma carry on until they both can shed their fake hatred and openly accept the love.
