Declaration of emergency likely tomorrow: Reports

ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting presided over by President General Pervez Musharraf decided Wednesday to declare emergency in the country for one month that could be extended for three months, the well placed sources told Geo News.

The meeting reviewed current political situation and various options regarding changes in the political set up came under discussion.

Pakistan Muslim League (QA) president Chaudhry Shujaat also reportedly said while talking to women parliamentarians of party during a reception which was hosted by him at his residence that emergency is likely to be declared.

Speaker National Assembly was also called at the reception in which he was consulted that in case of emergency how it could be approved from the National Assembly.

Some reliable sources confirmed that the decision regarding declaration of emergency was taken in the meeting.

However, the government sources have denied the reports about the declaration of emergency in the country.

if this news is true well then tht means this year people living in pak wudn't be able to celebrate independence day...

i knoww 😡 ... and emergency has happened first time in pakistan....there isn't any strong reason to declare emergency.. pakistan is not at war!!! 😕

Thanks for sharing, and no it doesn't mean independence day wont be celebrated, i dont think that has anything to do with it.

its not the one you think. in this law we go outside. this law says that leaders can't speak in media. theey can't speak in public. thats it. the thing happen 12 or more time before.

oh well dat means one more yrs of musharaf in Pak
bcoz there wont be any elections.......and now benazir and sharif brothers wont be allowed to go back to Pakistan for i guess another yr
musharaf did that just bcoz he want to save his seat.....i was just listing to benazir's interview and she said....if that will really happen then public will be on roads again......So that means.....thousands of ppl have to die and thousands of buildings have to burn

I was waiting for the 9 o clock news on PTV Global but they didn't show any news today... I wonder why? 🤔
