In my opinion, supporting Upen, was Dimpy's game move.
She saw in WKW, how the people she supported and expected support from had shunned her in favor of Pritam. Also, she knew, that this meant, she was already out of the group, because P3G had united. She instantaneously said stuff in support of Upen, because she can now garner support from Upen and KArishma, which means that out of 8 people, the votes can swing either side for nomination next week. If she hadn't moved over towards Upen and Karishma, it was bound to be her nominated by everyone. Right now, she has saved herself by having 2 other people on her side.
That is called playing the game. Like I said, she is too smart and knows how reality shows work. She is best prepared in this game. Ali looks like a fool when he does idhar ki baat udhar and changes sides, Dimpy does it so well, nobody understands what happened.
