She was the wife of his father, he was the son of her husband. Neither were related by blood, yet the bond they shared would inspire millions. Her decades spent wanting revenge weighed at nothing when she compared them to his life. He was ready to sacrifice his months old marriage and unborn child to fight for her cause on the front lines. She was his mother and he was her son. This is what showed in Starbharat, but what it was like in real? what's their real relationship was like in that era?

Its not clearly mentioned...Wat was the relationship between Abhimanyu n Draupadi is not expressed in details...
Hence we are all free to interpret it the way we want to do it...

However, Draupadi's reaction to Abhimanyu's death is noteworthy...She was supposedly as shocked and hurt as Subhadra...if I am not wrong. And wat is even more intriguing is the reaction of Arjun.
When Abhimanyu died, Arjun cried, 'What will I say to Subhadra? How will I look at her? What will I say to Draupadi?'

This may not be enough to show a loving bond between Draupadi n Abhimanyu but being an ardent admirer of Draupadi...I would like to believe that they had a great bonding...Why else would Arjun speak of Draupadi in such a situation? Draupadi must have been no less a mother to Abhimanyu than Subhadra...n Arjun was aware of it...n hence he took her name along with Subhadra's...n not anybody else's.

But then again...these are all our own interpretations...Ved Vyas has given subtle hints n we can interpret it the way we want to. However, in other scriptures like Skanda Purana(if I am not wrong) Abhimanyu is called Krishnaa's son as in Draupadi's son. I am not well versed in Puranas so I cannot say whether that is authentic or not...
I suppose other well read members here might be able to answer this question better...😊
