Episode 2: The Great Escape and the Great Evil - What is Bigger?

Forget his escapades in Dhoom 3, Siddharth Nigam has gone several steps above and beyond with his escape as Rudra in Mahakumbh.

As told to us yesterday, this is something above and beyond the understanding of the human knowledge. it's about acquiring a power, owning a power, and becoming immortal maybe for the evil benefits of those wanting power. And the tattoo on Rudra's back is proof of that. This is something much more than simply a tattoo. It's about something inside Rudra.

His great escape and the simple smile between him and his adoptive father spoke more than anything. It tells you that Rudra has a great strength unknown to anyone except himself. And he has a great strength to take on anyone and anything as long as he has some people beside him who care for him and can let him feel that nothing is impossible. Yet he's still broken. Even before his real life has started something inside him has broken as is evident from the pain in his eyes that doesn't leave even when he smiles.

The love in his Mai's eyes is so evident when she can't even let herself look at the bhindi and then when her son comes back (yes her son) she runs to greet him before he can even get off the boat. Those few seconds feel like centuries. It feels like they're finally meeting after eons. But it's the pain on seeing the handcuffs that is more evident then the love. It tells her why he's broken, why he's hurt, why he didn't hug her back, why he didn't affectionately call her Mai, why he just stood there like a statue. Her anger at the pandit was more than just an anger. It was a fire. And that fire came out when with one hit she broke both handcuffs. And when they came off, that's when you see the love and care come out through the fire in her eyes. Seema Biswas is indeed a splendid actor.

The evil power. There are 2 shows on Life OK that I watch nowadays. One is Pukaar - The Call For the Hero and the other is this. And in both the evil is larger than life, confident, strong, and is almost undefeatable (yes I know that's not a word, but still). That's exactly the same with Swami. He's a strength in himself. He's undefeatable. He's confident, maybe even over-confident. His body language says more than his words, yet his words are also something that are seemingly from another planet.

And now for 12 years both parties will live separate lives.

And the precap shows what happens when he tries to get rid of the tattoo. That shows that it's not just a tattoo, but something more than it.

The second episode did not disappoint thankfully & was equally good.
The action was amazing. Really loved it. And i love that time wasnt wasted on stupid dialogues. It all looked so real. And Rudra's eyes - wow they speak a thousand words. Its as though all the power he possesses is reflected in his eyes. His stare is enough to defeat the enemy. You know having power is one thing, but dealing with it & using it rightly is not everyone's cup of tea. And Rudra has always been shown to use it well. Even though he hasn't said much, I can see that he is very self-aware of what he possesses & the value of it. Great characterization & screenplay there.

Regarding the priest, must say I was impressed with that huge thaal he was holding. Its not easy to balance it. Larger than life is definitely the word but not just for the evil. I personally find even Rudra & Mai larger than life. Ok back to the evil, is he linked with the secret society in Poland? And is Rudra immortal? I wonder. He is one cunning & wise man, that priest. His dialogue on how virtues are valued because of sin - so true but at the same time reflected on his view of prayer. So he is ok with sinning because he knows that at the end of the day, he prays & washes off his sin? Wow now that explains why so many priests are corrupt LOL. Can't wait for his confrontation with Rudra even though it won't happen anytime soon. That would be an interesting watch because both sides are so powerful.

I think I am too tired to write anymore..hope i made some sense! Btw I love Pukaar too. Are you watching EVEREST? I highly recommend that show!

@ Bold: Yep that's true. Really all the characters are larger than life.

@ Underline: Yep I love Pukaar as well! No I haven't watched Everest, but I might catch a couple of episodes now. A few people have recommended it. 😊

Great post... Rudra the kid just stole my heart.. Rudra's character is bigger than his life. He has his inner power, he took out the wall where he was chained.. he broke the chain...
On the other side priest the evil and justified his sin because at the end of the day his sin will be washed out!
Very nice post.. looking for ward for the next epi..
