A couple of months ago, I had told you how Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma were reportedly seen bonding with each other during Shah Rukh Khans 49th birthday bash. And that had left many of us rather surprised considering there was talk about them not sharing an amicable equation because Anushka happens to be the ex-flame of Deepika's current beau, Ranveer Singh. However, grapevine suggested that after a while, all was well between the two B-town beauties.
According to a few recent reports, though, that might not be true. Both the actresses were recently present at the stadium during one of the matches of the International Premier Tennis League in Delhi. Naturally, the onlookers expected them to exchange pleasantries with each other. But rumour has it that both of them gave a cold shoulder to one another at the event. Despite being a few inches away, Anushka and Deepika were not seen greeting each other. Not to mention, that raised quite a few eyebrows.
What's more, in a recent interview to a leading daily, Anushka said this:
I didn't become an overnight star like Deepika Padukone. No one put me on the covers of magazines and called me the next big thing. No one said that she is the one to look out for' (laughs)... I stayed put, as I really wanted to act in films that I am proud of. I have acted only in seven films in six years and now I am considered one of the topmost actresses.
Ahem. That's not all. Ms. Sharma even went on record saying that Katrina Kaif is her favourite co-star. Now, we all know that Deepika and Kat do not share a cordial relationship (as Deepika happens to be the ex-girlfriend of Kat's current boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor).
Now, we can't help but wonder whether this marks the beginning of a brand new cold war. Or not. After all, it's quite possible that they did greet each other but not many came to know about it. Only time will tell.
