They can be beaten and ill treated with impunity.
They dont cost much.
Their parents are happy with the sudden fortune and dont mind their kids going away from them. They just dont care. Poverty makes people heartless.
But what is the point? The very fact that her parents sold her off to these people tells that they are not in a situation to take care of her.
What is to be gained by taking her back to her parents? Nothing.
They completely bypassed the girl's family and put her in a welfare hostel at least her basic needs will be met and she hopefully will meet better individuals there and gets to be with kids who are in the same boat as her.
Sad but that's the truth.The parents don't wait to think whether they can afford to have a family before producing kids🤢
