It will...eventually...have u seen anyone fighting over the what certificate the movie gets from the Censor board...and it won't matter...people can disagree all they want...but ultimately those are the numbers that will matter...and will be used by the media...😛

I agree

There needs to be strict auditing and some kind of system put in place, I don't follow the BO religiously - but it's becoming strangely obvious that there is serious manipulation happening. I almost don't even know which movies are flop and what are hits

Yes and I am glad that some people are able to see how BOI manipulates its numbers to adjust the ranks of the movies...u have to pick up the latest report card by BOI and compare it with another year and u will see the manipulations to adjust SOME rankings...and I agree that these BO numbers need to be audited...even the producers should not have a free hand at reporting whatever they want.

Yes,a statutory body is needed but I don't get one thing, why should the box office collections be made public? Bollywood is not television industry where you need to provide figures to get advertisers to run your channel. The box office collections can be released inside the industry so that producers can safely invest on films starring actors who can promise good return.

Once you leak out collections to the public, fan groups of rival stars start blowing collections out of proportion along with journalists(who are nowadays fans with more power).
