Statutory Body for Box Office Collections??

Do you guys think that it is high time that there should be a statutory body for Box office collections of movies...and awarding them statuses like Hit or Flop...just like we have the Censor Board of India for classification of movies. Right now any Tom, Dick and Harry will put out the BO numbers...why should we believe one over the other? The recent controversy because of Krishh 3 ...where some say its not a 200 cr movie ...while others say its a 240 crore movie ..should be solved how? Wouldn't it be better is the Government body was authorized to do so??

The second part is ...why are the overseas collections not included while predicting the statuses...Humare paise ped per ugte hain kya?😆

Studios release official figures for HW films, I think. YRF announced D3 figures around 280+ cr. BOI figure was 261. Depends on people believe official figures or not.

world wide collection consider as bonus but i agree...collection is collection..they should include it ...may be they all putting pressure that how much distributor gained if disturbtor gets in loss that mean film underperformed for bussiness who buyed film from producer

I think it will only be formed if BOI website ppl & producers sit n form a Official Bollywood Box Office report forum. BOI has it's own sources, they don't believe on what producers give figures which Taran Adarsh (& sites which follow him) give. So until a known Box Office website which has Social media strong fanbase is collaborated with official producers, it won't be of no use.

Also a benefit of this collaboration will be BOI will get more info from wider range, which they might be missing coz of their own exercise doing on their own expense.

If 1 Unanimous Body comes for Reporting, Bashing will be of no fun, coz yahaan se utha liya less, wahan se utha liya more 2 defend 😆

As for overseas well they have their own verdicts

A film has 2 verdicts domestic and international

It's just everyone put heavy weight in the domestic one

If you wanna mix the verdicts and put heavy weight in the worldwide one you can but people like to divide them for some reason. But we must remember these are Hindi films produced in india so the amount of cash it earns in india would be the ultimate judge IMHO . If it's like 3 idiots or HAHK or a Srk film where it is huge everywhere then that's one thing. But if it does not run that well in india but is successful in abroad well then the investors will have made back their money but perception wise people will treat it as less than . A lot of Hollywood films don't do that well in USA but recover their costs in overseas money but they are still considered failures

But agree, there needs to be one single (independent) box office data site, so that ppl aren't confused but then the aam janta don't care bout such data/figures, its only the IF ppl who are obsessed ...
