Meet the daughter of Alyque and Sharon

"As of now I'm doing theatre. Through it I'm learning so much. I'm trying to become a really great actress. I consider theatre my acting school."

Since she has been performing with Gary Richardson's troupe she has gotten a lot of offers for films:
shazahn_padamsee "I've received many film offers but I'm taking my time to decide on the right role. I want something that can show off my talent. Right now I rehearse everyday. I'm very into acting. It's my full time job now.

I can't talk about the offers because it wouldn't be right but let's just say I have been approached by some good directors from the industry. Some of the roles weren't exactly what I'm looking for but I'm still in the process of deciding. I'm meeting with directors everyday and figuring things out."

The actress is so keen to improve her skills that she wants to go to the prestigious Lee Strasburg theatre institute:
"Next year I may go there for a course in acting. Everything is moving so fast that I have no definite plans. I've just been learning so much within the last couple of months doing shows."

Shazahn has done a lot of modeling earlier, but will now only work on some prestigious campaigns.

How is the actress gearing up with Bollywood?
"Well my Hindi is not up to the mark. It's good but it isn't great so I've started going for Hindi classes. I like to be very organized. In fact I'm irritating because I'm too organized with my lists and tick marks! Right now I'm trying to be as prepared and level headed as possible. I also plan to stat dance classes soon. If the role demands it then I'll dance too! I sound like an actress who has already done 40 films! I want to have the whole package before I sign a film. I'm looking out for good roles which require talent. I've found what I love—acting and I've put a lot into rehearsals so now it's time to show off my potential."

So far Shazahn has performed a variety of different roles from a girl who has been sexually abused, a feisty girl on a train trying to hold her own and a gutsy role as well. She says she is open to doing everything from tragedy to a romance to a thriller- "I'm all set to go!"

The teenager admits that it's hard balancing her once carefree life with all that's going on professionally now. She says "It gets hectic. Earlier my life was basically hanging out and chilling. There were a few exams to do, holidays and friends. But now I'm running from here to there with auditions, shooting my portfolio, performing and modeling as well. There's a lot on my plate! I owe everything to my parents who have been so supportive."
