Meena Kumari
Meena Kumari joined the industry as a child actor and worked in almost 90 films in a career spanning 30 years. She is still known for her roles in films like Parineeta, Baiju Baawra, Saheb Biwi Aur Ghulam and Pakeezah. She passed away on March 31, 1972 just three weeks after the release of her iconic role Pakeezah as she was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis. The iconic actress finished the shooting of the film in bad health conditions. It's also said that there was no money to pay her hospital bills.

Her affair with Dilip Kumar and the heartbreak that she suffered from the superstar was the talk of the town back then. In 1954, she was diagnosed with terminal congenital heart condition. It is said that she was bed ridden for almost eight years before succumbing to death in 1968.

She was found dead in her house on January 22, 2005 after the society secretary found that she had not collected milk and newspaper for the past three days. It was said that she had gangrene of the left foot.
