Curious Case of the Missing Filmwaalahs: Celebrities who did not attend Arpita Khan's wedding reception
Arpita Khan's wedding was a starry affair. Be it the wedding at Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad, or the wedding reception in Mumbai. The who's who from Bollywood, society, and business world were present to bless the newlyweds. Arpita's wedding also proved to be atime for patch ups. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman bonded big time during the sangeet ceremoney as well as the reception. Hrithik Roshan, with whom Salman has had a rocky relationship in the recent past, was also present for the reception. Also, Salman sent an invitation to the photographers' association who as a goodwill gesture decided to lift the ban that they had imposed on the actor that was imposed after an altercation at an event. However, there were some celebs, who were known to be close to Salman who weren't seen either at the wedding or the reception.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali: Salman and Sanjay have worked together in Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Black together, however the director was not invited for the wedding. Things went a bit sour when Salman made some comments against Guzaarish. During the video made to celebrate two decades of his much-loved family drama, Hum Aapke Hain Koun Salman said, "One day, I saw Sanjay Leela Bhansali yelling, apparently he does that quite a lot. I had to tell him and I did - 'Sanjay, you must hang around with Sooraj Barjatya. And just see how he directs'." And though Sanjay has tried to maintain peace by not reacting, things have not colled down between the two.
Rishi-Neetu Kapoor: Karisma and Kareena have been close to Salman for many years, and while Bebo took off for a holiday with husband Saif, Lolo and dad Randhir Kapoor along with aunt Rima Jain were present. However, Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir were not in attendance. Rumour had it that they were not invited. Howver, Ranbir's girlfriend Katrina was present for the wedding celebrations in Hyderabad and even danced with the Khans.
Deepika Padukone: People expected Deepika Padukone to attend one of the celebration ceremonies. While everyone felt that it was due to Kat's presence at the wedding in Hyderabad that Deepika gave it a miss. However, she wasn't present at the reception either. Apparently, the actress has been busy shooting for Piku and hence couldn't make it for the wedding.
Arjun Kapoor: While Boney Kapoor was present at the reception, Arjun, who had previously dated Arpita, had been groomed by Salman before he made his debut. Recently, Arjun even made an appearance on Bigg Boss to promote his movie Tevar. Arjun's Tevar co-star Sonakshi made, however, was present.
The Chopras: Rani Mukerji has been Salman's friend for many years now. The actress however wasn't present for the wedding because she and hubby Aditya Chopra are on a vacation. Pamela Chopra also gave the events the skip.
The Bachchans: While nobody expected Aishwarya to attend the wedding, Abhishek has been busy travelling with his football team. Amitabh, who has worked with Salman in Baghban and Babul, has been busy shooting for Piku in Delhi. The senior actor also was present for IFFI in Goa. The jet-setting family hasn't been spending much time in the city.
