She danced her way into everyone's hearts and hit the big league with Jhalak Dikhlaja. Meet television diva Mona Singh, aka Jassi, up close and personal.

It's show time for Mona Singh: she's busy gearing up for live performances in the US and Canada. "They are basically musicals with Alka Yagnik and Kumar Shahanu. I will be hosting the shows and giving performances as well. Today, organisers don't only call me for anchoring but they also want me to dance," she shares excitedly. Evidently, the television diva is as comfortable playing Jassi as she is hosting shows. Living out of a suitcase, has become part and parcel of her life.

Her time these days is also consumed byExtreme Makeovers, a reality show slated tobe aired soon on Sony. "The makeovers are not for ordinary people, but for genuine victims of disfigurement. I'm hosting the show with a panel of doctors, who, depending on the case, give advice."

Was television always in the reckoning? "I have never planned anything for myself, and hardly knew which direction my life would take. I'm someone who goes with the flow," she responds philosophically. (Gosh, she sounds exactly like Apu..😳)

Mona had her eyes set on the runway right from her college years. She was propelled into the glamour world when she bagged a modelling assignment for Asian Paints. Some months later, the floodgates opened when Deeya Singh, maker of famous sitcom, Banegi Apni Baat, cast her as Jassi. And the rest, as we know, is history! The new svelte look suits her. "I've been on a slimming spree for a while now, thanks to Jhalak Dikhlaja," she confesses.
