||RECAP||
"if that so, then i m not a princess, i m a queen now, because i m going to marry a king not a prince, bhabhi" said jodha to which everyone laughed, expect santram, he was not liking the change in his little princes.
"but where were you?" asked santram avoiding the topic
"umm...yeah!! jogging, i went for a jog" said jodha giving an uneasy smile to everyone, veer smirked looking at jodha as he knows the little lie of hers.
CHAPTER 21
"jogging? and that too on your wedding day? it is weird! isn't it?" remarked veer.
"what's weird in this? i mean, come on! i want to look slim on my wedding day" jodha glared at veer while saying this.
"just leave this topic here!! we are already late for the ceremony, now come on" said piya, taking jodha along with her.
***
Jodha was all surrounded by ladies, looking aesthetic in the simple yellowish-white bridal trousseau, along with the floral jewellery all over , was rising the level of her beauty.
As the ritual began, jodha's aunt applied the sacred paste on her, giving her blessings for her upcoming life, followed by the other relatives.
"you all painted me yellow" said jodha with a giggle.
"now you are looking much better" said veer, who entered a minute before and pasted the whole sacred turmeric mixture on jodha's face, and the fight continues, as the bride is not like those shy types, she ran all around the mansion behind veer and ronny, who soon joined the play.
"stop that!! jodha go and get ready" said piya who was running behind them.
"yeah!"
***
"finally!! jodha is in her home " came rishika running to hamida.
"but where was she?" asked hamida to which jalal left his phone for a second and looked at her sister keenly, waiting to know what jodha answered to her family.
"ohh!! piya told me that she went for a jog today" laughed rishika, to which hamida too joined her, knowing the cuteness of her would be daughter in law, but jalal was left astounded by her answer, and after a minute or two, he again resumed his work, after getting back to his normal sense.
"jalal!! today is your wedding, and you are just engrossed in your phone" said a disappointed hamida, as soon as she noticed jalal with his phone.
"i was just collecting some information of our new dealers" said jalal as he was again re-entering the business world, and wanted to know everything about the changes that had happened in his absence.
"you don't need to, i know my son is the best in everything" said hamida patting his cheek softly.
"and your daughter too" said rishika and took jalal's phone to which hamida kissed rishika, for this act of hers.
"you both are teaming up together" said jalal shaking his head which was showing his disappointment, to which both the ladies laughed and left from there.
****
"what happened jodha! you haven't changed yet" asked santram as he saw his sister sitting motionless on her bed.
"you are not calling me princess today?" asked jodha as soon as she noticed that her big brother called her by her name, which was a quite rare thing for her.
"as you are a queen now" said santram repeating jodha's words.
"bhaiya! i was joking" hugged jodha.
"hey princess, why are you crying?" asked santram as he felt his shirt getting wet, he looked at her face and wiped the tears off her face.
"i am missing maa" cried jodha and again hugged her brother, santram caressed her hairs, knowing that jodha was really very close to their mother, he knows that this time she would get a little emotional.
"mom used to hate tears on your eyes" said santram to which jodha rubbed the tears by the back of her palm.
"that's like my princess jodha" said santram as he kissed her forehead.
"aren't you happy?" asked jodha as she was missing something in his brother.
"i am concerned! i still think that this wedding should not happen now, i mean first, complete your internship, and just think about your relation with jalal, just give some more time to your relation" said santram still trying to convince jodha to call off the wedding.
"bhaiya!! you still don't trust jalal , haina?" asked jodha with a low voice, knowing that somewhere her brother is still doubting him, his capabilities, his duties and their love, and they have to prove him wrong, for his confirmation, that his doubt was nothing but a wrong thought, his illusion, his false belief.
"dat's true, yes i can't trust him, there's still a doubt somewhere inside me regarding him, but i trust you, and i respect your belief in him, and i want to be proved wrong princess!! i just want to see you happy, i don't care for anyone more than you, and as my princess is promoted to a queen now then she should get everything she deserves. right?" asked santram with a light laugh making jodha smile, and nodded her head, hugging him again.
"but if anything happened with you or anything which i felt is going wrong with my princess then you will not..." added santram but was stopped by jodha's words.
"i know" giggled jodha seeing the over protectiveness of her brother.
"just come here!! there's many things to do" screamed piya, to which both the brother and sister guffawed.
"i think i should leave now" said santram kissing jodha's forehead.
"yes!! itz better for you" giggled jodha.
****
"now itz my chance" said rishika as she jumped beside her brother with her hands almost covered with the sacred paste, scaring jalal with the teasing smirk on her lips.
"arre yrr!! who is this now" said rishika irritated by the phone call which disturbed her to carry on the ritual.
"bhai! put it on loudspeaker naa" pleaded rishika showing the mess on her hands with the turmeric paste, seeing no other chance left, jalal did as asked by his lil sister, without checking out the number.
"hello!!" answered rishika, putting some haldi over jalal's nose making him frown, to which rishika giggled.
"why are you chuckling over there?" cried jodha in frustration making both the brother sister to check the screen, and yes!! it was her would be sister in law.
"he..hey jodha! what happened? you fine?" asked rishika looking at her mother than at jalal, all were deeply interested in the conversation.
"uhun!! i hate you all, who selected this damn lehenga, you know itz so very heavy, i don't wanna wear it" shrieked jodha, looking at her bridal attire (click)
"dude! i personally designed it" said rishika, glancing at her brother, with her nose scrunched up in anger, while the groom himself was confused by her bride's tantrums.
"arre!! itz really very pretty and beautiful! but itz just so heavy" said jodha, trying to make up with rishika, sensing difference in her voice, jodha tried to clarify herself.
"it seems to, just wear it once and then the magic will work" said rishika smilingly, she looked at her mother who was saying her to continue her talks with jodha.
"but.." said jodha still trying to find some way to not wear something uncomfortable.
"no if's and but's you have to wear it" said veer who just entered jodha's room.
"what he is doing there" asked jalal to which rishika signalled him to stay quiet.
"why did you come here?" asked an irritated jodha, she was already irked, and now this veer.
"actually, the stylist has arrived" said veer picking up jodha's attire
"woah!! it is heavy" said veer, but was soon pushed by jodha.
"why are you touching it, itz mine!!"
"beta, first, go and get ready, we will be leaving after a hour or so" said hamida taking away the phone from jalal's hand, and signalled rishika to continue her task.
"haaww!! rishika are you trying to scare me, i know itz you, so stop mimicking maa's voice"
"beta i am not rishika, now go and get ready" said hamida, to which jodha looked at the phone screen and out of nervousness, disconnected the call.
"she got scared" remarked rishika, to which all the ladies giggled at the cuteness of jodha.
~~~
"i am looking so pretty, isn't it?" asked jodha looking at piya, to which she nodded.
"but let her do your make over" replied piya.
"oh plz!! i am managing this burden, and now i don't want 3 kilos of make up" said jodha pointing towards the bridal trousseau she was wearing, and there was no doubt that she was looking like a true princess.
"gawd!! the bride is not ready, yet" said veer as he again jumped in jodha's room.
"just leave" said jodha with a pout on her lips, which was showing that the princess was angry now.
"what happened?" asked veer sitting beside jodha.
"you lied! jalal was not at all excited for that stupid party" said jodha whacking his arm.
"uhh!! i am sorry" said veer, with a cheesy grin complimenting his face.
"oh just shut up, i am not going to forgive you" said jodha as she turned towards the baby veer (the dog, everyone forgot him??)
"aww!! no one dressed up my baby" said jodha, as she picked up the puppy dog on her lap, and dressed him up, with a red bow on his head (CLICK!)
"uhh!! he is looking quite girly" commented veer to which he got a glare from jodha.
"he is from the girl's side naa, that is why my veer is looking a little girlish, but still he is looking much better than you" said jodha.
"oh come on jodha!! ohkie i am sorry" said veer while jodha was just ignoring him, and was busy in her eye make up.
"i want a new hair cut" said jodha stubbornly to the coiffeuse.
"oh see, now jalal too arrived" said veer listening the noises which were indicating towards the arrival of the groom.
"now where's my earrings?" panicked jodha, a little excited to meet jalal.
"slow down, bride! you are still not allowed to go downstairs, there are many rituals on the way" said veer with a teasing smirk on his lips.
"uhh!! stop irritating me and go from here".
"heya! where's the bride?" asked mirza who walked inside jodha's room.
"where's that dirty dog?" asked jodha coming towards mirza.
"ooh la la, someone is looking really beautiful" commented mirza.
"i know" said jodha giving him her bestest smile.
"i was talking about veer" said mirza pointing towards the puppy, making jodha go angry on him.
"just leave, ek toh i am wearing this heavy lehenga, and now you people are not even praising me!!" pouted jodha.
"you don't need praises princess, you know some girls are born with glitter in their veins"said mirza resting his arm on jodha's shoulder.
"it was for me?" asked jodha, with her twinkling eyes looking at mirza.
"you are having a doubt?" asked mirza, winking at veer.
"noo!! i know i am the best"
"why you came here?" asked veer, irritated by mirza's sudden entry.
"oh yaah!! mom send these to you" said mirza passing jodha, a pair of gold bangles.
"beautiful" gasped jodha as she wore them up.
"where's rishika?"
"oh she is busy in safe guarding bhai's shoes" said mirza, but was soon called up by hamida.
"umm!! veer will you do me a favour?" asked jodha, narrowing her eyes.
"anything for you" said veer
"then go and see what is jalal doing" said jodha to which veer denied.
"ohk!! then i will tell jalal that you offered me that wine" threatened jodha to which veer dis-heartedly agreed.
"puppy veer will also accompany you, actually to spy you" said jodha handling the well dressed puppy to veer.
"you, little! snatched my name" said veer showing his big eyes to the already scared puppy, who was trying to free himself from veer's hold.
***
Jalal was just sitting in the main hall, observing everyone present there, and to his surprise half of the people were looking at him, and why not, he was looking suave and striking in his embellished sherwani, while rishika was another wonder, who was just staring at his shoes, which was irking jalal from the last 15 minutes.
"rishi! what are you doing?" asked jalal looking at his little sister.
"shhh!! bhai, i am keeping an eye on your shoes, see, those girls over there are jodha's cousins, and they are just behind these shoes, you know naa, i don't want them to win"said rishika, to which jalal rolled his eyes.
"what's in his mind now?" murmured jalal as he saw the two veer's coming towards his direction.
"jalal, varun was not behind the accident, at the premier, the inspector called me a few minutes back, the gun which was found there, is not having his fingerprints, and the inspector is sure that he is not behind it, so just be careful" said veer
"then who can it be?"
"i don't know, just don't reveal your relation with jodha now, it will be better if you will unveil it after knowing the real culprit" said veer, to which jalal nodded.
"congratulations, your life is going to be a living hell now" said veer hugging him up, so as to light the tension.
"bhai!! don't hug him, he is a gay" remarked rishika, as she picked up veer from the floor.
"yeah!! like you a lesbian" said veer and walked towards jodha's room with the puppy veer, again in his weird hold.
"bhai!! did you listen what just he said?" asked rishika but his brother had already left that place, when the fight was started.
****
And finally the time came, when jodha was finally asked to come to the mandap, everyones eyes were towards the stairs as the royal bride descended the stairs, no doubt that jodha was looking exceptionally beautiful, jalal who was busy examining his sister's antics got disturbed by the murmurs that started among the crowd, he turned around and followed the sight of the people around him, and there he saw and his alluring bride walking towards him with a group of girls beside her, and yea! the chief bridesmaids of jodha - veer and mirza, who were too walking with his bride.
Her wedding dress was majestically complementing her body, it was like that it was made just for her, no doubt that rishika had surely done a great job, her dress was precisely cut to celebrate her beauty through a paean cut to the length of her nude waist and statuesque back, her ornate bridal avatar was something which could be a cause for someone's death, like they say - breathtaking, today, jodha was defining this word much better than anyone else.
Jodha walked towards the mandap, carrying two dupattas, one on her shoulder, the other, a very light veil on her head, a ruby headpiece, attached with the hair was enhancing her beauty, that is pulled back to form a low bun at the nape of her neck. The bun with some ornamentation, along with the low back, was visible through the veil, which was a great combination of Indian and modernity, a diamond necklace with rubies embedded on it completed her look with very gentle make up.
Walking towards jalal with much grace and confidence, she was waiting for him to react, but he remained standing never losing their eye contact, jodha tried to break the eye contact but it was not working, seeing no chance left she herself held his hand and gestured him to help her in walking up the 'mandap', coming back from his drooling session, he looked around and was relieved that no one had noticed 'that moment'.
"thank god! i am not late" whooped rukaiya as soon as she entered, with maan running behind her, she jumped on the 'mandap' and hugged jodha.
"congratz buddy" said rukaiyah
"hey!! don't spoil my wedding dress" said jodha as she picked her up in a bone crushing hug.
"you again started" taunted ruks winking at jalal and hugged him, 'congratz to you too buddy'.
"can we plz proceed the rituals now" said rishika.
"yaah!! why not! as me, maan and veer are from the girls's side" said rukaiyah, how much she loves to irritate rishika.
"and the puppy veer is too with us" squealed jodha, again irritating veer to no end.
"why the hell she named him after me" murmured an irritated veer.
****
Jodha finally approached the mandap, after having a brief description on "hiding the shoes" of jalal. Jaimala (exchange of garlands) started with teasing and laughing session , mirza and veer shove jalal higher to ditch jodha's try, she pouted and again tried but then this veer was just making it impossible for her to continue it.
"traitor" said an extremely annoyed jodha and was just searching something to throw at veer, who was busy in delaying her marriage.
With a little more teasing sessions, they finally exchanged garlands, signifying their acceptance of one another. And after all the little more rituals, they were finally made to sit beside each other, opposite the sacred fire, symbolizing the divine presence as a witness of the ceremony.
Rishika then ties the end of her brother's scarf to jodha's sari, the knot represents the eternal bond of marriage, seeing the opportunity, jodha signalled rukaiyah to do her remaining job.
jodha and jalal walk around the sacred fire seven times, taking a vow with each step, looking at each other, remembering their journey, their craziness, their unpredictable love.
Returning back to their seats, jalal placed the mangalsutra (sacred necklace made of black and gold beads) around her neck and applying sindoor (red vermilion powder) on the crown of her forehead, these two offerings were now jodha's status as a married woman and jalal's devotion to her, as it was the last part of the ceremony, the priest declared them married.
Women from both families whispered blessings into jodha's ear, and then the couple bowed down to the priest, their parents and elder relatives to receive their final blessings.
While the other side, rishika and mirza were having a tough time in searching the missing shoes, they searched the whole mansion, but it was not there, they spied ruks and veer but they were simply participating in all the rituals with no sign of nervousness.
"where's my shoes?" asked jalal as it was time to leave, and his shoes were simply missing.
"rishika!"
"i don't know" uttered rishika as she was herself confused.
And at that very second, the girls gang came up with their demands, which was obviously a fun part for the audience as jalal khan was actually bargaining, which was obviously a scene to be watched. Before jalal could do anything, his pockets were empty, his cards, wallet, and the changes too, the only thing that was left in his pocket was his car keys.
"i want your Koenigsegg Agera" demanded veer as the way got cleared.
"you are kidding me" asked jalal, as he was surely not going to do this, it was his treasured car, his companion since college days, to which veer left knowing that there was no conversation ahead.
"they still haven't given my shoes" sighed jalal and then looked at jodha who just gave him a mousy smile and lifted up her skirt, hence there was his shoes, jodha was wearing them.
"you little kitten, you should be with us" said rishika
"i am with you only"
"then what's this"
"shoes" murmured jodha making everyone smile, after a few more things, finally it was the time to bid adieu jodha, it was emotional for everyone in singh mansion, especially for santram nd ronny, after some time staying together jodha finally left for khan mansion.
****
"welcome home bhabhi" said rishika as jodha entered the mansion, it was not new for her to enter this place, but the feeling was new, earlier it was different but now it was her home. All the rituals were done by hamida.
"come, sit jodha" said hamida, seeing jodha all surrounded by the group of girls.
"yeah!! her brother was just not in a mood to marry her, in every sentence he was saying her to call of the wedding" commented rishika remembering the bidaai part.
"and jalal's reaction was just superb, every time sir would say something, jalal's face was like 'is he mad'" said rukaiyah.
"you all are making fun of my bhaiya?" asked jodha, pouting her lips.
"no dear!".
"ohk! now let them go, almost all rituals are done" said hamida.
"arre wait mom! she needs a brief description about her in laws" said rishika
"i know everyone well" said jodha.
"ohk then tell me who's the weirdest person in our family?" asked mirza to which jodha looked at jalal.
"not him" said rishika.
"uncle!! uncle is the most weirdest person amongst the khan's" said veer to which everyone laughed.
"no, papa, can't be weird, i think he is the most genuine person i have ever met"
"see!! she knows me well" said humayun to which jodha nodded.
"you will get to know this soon, kitten" said rishika pulling jodha's cheek.
"ohh don't do that, this nose ring is already irritating me" said jodha as it was really a big problem for her to manage those elephant weight jewels.
"aww...you are looking so pretty" said hamida as her calculative gaze ran over her daughter in law from head to toe, no doubt that she was the sweetest bride, and the smile on her lips was something to which anyone would fall for.
"why you love bhai?" asked rishika as this question was something which she wanted to know since the first time she met jodha.
"why i love him?,it is impossible to explain, it was unpredictable" said jodha looking at his eyes.
"unpredictable?...what do you mean by that?" asked rishika.
"our love is unpredictable, no one can ever predict it, when i first met him i never imagined that i would have such strong feelings for him, i never thought that i would have dreams about him or get that butterfly feeling when someone mentions his name, when i first met him i never would have thought that i would love him." confessed jodha, first time she admitted her feelings publicly, everyone remained silent looking at her, the sincerity in her voice, forced them to feel their love.
"and explaining why i love him is like explaining the taste of water, it is impossible!"continued jodha, still looking at his eyes, nothing matter when he was with her, it really didn't, it was just them.
"never ask this question again because then i will have to explain to you why i live" said jodha, looking at rishika, who was just drown in jodha's words.
"you are the lucky one" said rishika to jalal as she helped jodha in her way to the room.
"i know" said jalal as he glanced jodha, who was already busy in staring him, they haven't talked properly for the whole day, and when they finally got some time, his bestest buddy jumped in middle.
"hey come jalal"
"no i am not coming" said jalal as he walked behind jodha and rishika.
"jalal!" called his father to whom he can't ignore, he looked at jodha and left to his dad.
****
"finally i am in" said jalal as he walked inside his room after dealing with his father who was busy giving him information about the changes that took place in their business in his absence, but thanks to his mother, who saved him.
"j..jodha!" called jalal, startled seeing jodha, who was sitting on the middle of his bed with veil covering her face, nd was continuously moving, this was surely not excepted by his jodha.
"are you fine?" asked jalal as he went towards her, he was himself scared seeing her.
"YOU!!!" shouted jalal,he was actually shocked as he lifted up the veil and maan was there, with his mouth gagged and hands tied behind his back with a scarf or something.
"what are you doing here?" asked jalal untying his hands, but before maan could say anything, the room was soon filled with giggles, chuckles and laughs.
"oh gawd jalal" came rukaiya and helped maan in freeing himself.
"why did you do this?" asked jalal in irritation.
"it was your wife?" said rishika in between her laughs, jalal looked around the room, but there was no jodha, he again glanced the room and there was she, hiding behind the curtain, he waked towards her.
"rat, come out" said jalal as he leaned sideways, sliding the curtains and was busy seeing the scared jodha.
"are you angry?" asked jodha as she opened her eyes, and saw jalal looking at her.
"why you always target me? All your pranks revolves around me only" asked jalal as he leaned a little more closer towards jodha.
"arre, they were all getting bored, and that too on my wedding night" said jodha pushing away jalal.
"you are entertaining everyone on our wedding night?" asked jalal.
"bhaaii!! she is so very cute naaa" said rishika to which jodha nodded.
"all of you simply leave now!" said jalal threatening everyone.
"where are you going?" asked jalal pulling jodha back who was leaving the room with others.
"you only said"
"bhaai, she is really..."
"i know" said jalal and just pushed everyone out of his room.
"bhai you have to give me something, then only i will leave this place"
"just take this and go" said jalal handling his cards, keys,cheques, everything in his pocket to rishika.
"i don't want these, i will ask you when the right time will come, as i don't need anything now" said rishika to which jalal could only smile, this was his baby sister, a confused soul,childish, sometimes mature, stubborn, irritating and what not, but whatever it is, she was his first female friend!
"best of luck bhai" shouted rishika as she ran from there.
"what happened to you now?" asked jalal as he locked up the door and saw jodha sitting on the bed with crossed legs, he went towards her, and sat beside her.
"how am I looking?" asked jodha, she waited the whole day for his praise, just a word but he didn't praised her, not a single word.
Jalal looked at her she's a beauty, of course, checking her all over again, he noticed a few changes that he missed before, she had restyled her hairs and bleached at certain parts, coaxed with shinning waves, fixed with jewel studded gold pins which perfectly matched with her red and golden wedding dress, her softly rounded cheeks were tinted with blush, her jewels and her wedding attire were so perfect to her as if she was born with them, and the nose ring which was quite irritable for her was cute for jalal, she looked cute with that nose ring on her, it rose her beauty to the next level. Some womanly touched to her beautiful, kissable lips, to her eyelids and her long eyelashes that glittered whenever she blinked, they curled upward making her looked more like a heavenly creature than a human being, she was more than beautiful, delicious, flattering and seductively acceptable. In fact she was more than merely pretty, she looked like she was not jodha, but she really was and no one could blame her for that stunning beauty on that day, today a new wife is born.
"see, you again got lost somewhere" complained jodha clicking her fingers.
"you are looking a little different" said jalal.
"you don't like it?"
"i din't say that"
"you are beautiful" said jalal "and no one has the right to make you feel like you are not"added jalal, a bit huskily, he leaned a bit closer to her, but jodha pushed him, to which jalal looked at her, a shocked expression!
"hey!! where's my gift?" asked jodha
"wh..what gift?" asked jalal as he was thinking to have some close time with her and she is talking about a gift.
"oye!! every husband gives a gift to her bride on their first night" said jodha.
"we will talk about this later" said jalal, leaning closer to her, caressing her cheek, but her hand was again pushed away by jodha
"you are not giving me anything naa?" asked jodha, as her lips formed into a pout, she again looked at him, and then turned her head away in anger, but soon she looked at him as he slipped a diamond bracelet on to her wrist, it was simple but elegant, featuring seven round diamonds, each increasing in size to symbolize how their love has grown.
"wow!! itz so pretty, but why you were lying then?" said jodha as she hugged him up, he grabbed her waist, easing closer, he spoke "sorry" as he caressed her cheeks with feather-light stokes of his thumb.
"hey. i can't call you by your name now" said jodha as she removed his hand and looked at him, while jalal was just looking at her,dumbstruck.
"from where do you get these useless things in your mind?" asked jalal.
"itz not useless, did you ever see piya bhabhi calling bhaiya by his name, or maa ever said papa's name? nhi naa, then how can you say this, there would have been some thing behind it naa" said jodha looking at jalal who was just finding the best words to explain him her innocent thought.
"they say it because they likes it that way, itz just their way to respect eachother"
"hmmm..i think you are right, mai bhi naa, i believed rishika, but still what should i call you, jaan, babie, darling, yaa sweetie?" asked jodha with a giggle.
"call me by my name" whispered jalal, caressing the inside of her palm with soft fingers, and then he threads his fingers through hers and holds hard.
"jalal" shouted jodha.
"wh...whaat?" asked jalal, a little afraid by her shouting.
"find your name, on my mehandi"
"you are kidding me?" asked jalal, irritated.
"noo... plz naa, plzzz" asked jodha to which jalal took her hand, and at last he succeeded.
"wow!! you did it, you know..." jodha stopped her sentence, as his mouth seared again her cheekbone, downward toward her neck, his breath a heat wave moving over her skin, hotter with every exhalation.
"j..jalal" said jodha again disturbing jalal which was now kind of irritating him.
"now what?" snapped jalal.
"milk" a little afraid by his voice
"wh..what milk?" asked jalal, startled.
"mom told to give you" said jodha as he took the glass, and slept on his side after finishing it off.
"you are sleeping?" asked jodha shocked.
"yeah" said an irritated plus angry jalal.
"but today's are wedding night" said jodha trying to wake him up
"so..?"
"then y..you, i m..mean, how...can you?" asked jodha finding words to explain him.
"celebrate your wedding night all by yourself" snapped jalal and turned off the light.
"me..alone?" asked jodha.
"yeahh!" said jalal and covered his face with the quilt while jodha was just looking at him.@aishu,on the way jab kehte ho tum,tab lagtah hain ki kisi ka delivery time ho gaya hain!!!!!!!!
