Have any of you read the book Rebecca or seen the movie.
I have a feeling that Humsafars is based on that.

Sahir was probably married earlier and his first wife is dead. Alvira wants Arzoo to get married to Sahir. Probably her ulterior motive.

Does it look like a far fetched story 😃?

Hi Dimple,
I read the book a long time back...but I don't think this story has anything to do with the story in Rebecca.
SPOILER...Please don't read below if you ever want to read the book...and don't want to know the story...
In Rebecca, the guy actually murders his first wife...and the new young new wife...slowly figures out that he has murdered her...never the less, she has fallen in love with him by then...and he is actually a positive character despite this...so she saves him...

But think about it. Why does Kurti aapa get to say anything and getaway with it. Maybe she is party to this secret as well.
In Rebecca the hero thinks he has murdered his first wife but actually hasn't.
As per the story the maid who tends to the first wife is so obsessed with her that she cannot see anybody else in her place.
This might explain the animosity Kurti aapa has towards Arzoo.

I don't think it's based on Rebecca ...I think the show is loosely inspired from a few paki shows clubbed With old shows of the PH ..n anyway in a prime time Hindi daily soap they won't RISk showing the first wife dead ..

Yes KA n Alvira bith have an ulterior motive but tht cud be anything from an old past to property to revenge ..moreover Alvira sounded VERY confident n there are two eligible bachelors at home 😆

And here there is that mysterious phone call and Sahirs absence on Thursdays so whatever it is it's ongoing...not totally in the past...which is probably why no one not even Alvira tries to get him to get over it!

in indian shows male lead can't be killer.

even if they adopt then they will show first wife as negative and useless. so no worries

The story is unnacnily similar to a paki show I have seen and the way the chacarater have been placed is also similar ...
But since this is an Indian show ..I am not sure how they would run the track
