A view of the garbage-laden beach from Aparna's balcony

The view from a sea-side flat in Mumbai may not always be fantastic. Often, it's repulsive, especially during the monsoons, when the sea throws up garbage, spreading the stink all around. This is what TV actress Aparna Tilak (of Left Right Left) faces every morning. Aparna, who stays at Shivaji Park in Dadar, is bearing the brunt of pollution here. Disgusted by the stench, one morning, Aparna decided to capture the filthy scene on her camera and send it along to us.

Says a distraught Aparna, "I stay in a building near Hinduja Hospital, on the sea-side. However, instead of enjoying a fresh morning breeze, I wake up with the stink from the sea water every morning. All the societies from our locality contribute to cleaning of the beach regularly and help Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) in their job. But, every morning, this filth in the sea water is just too much to bear."

"People should actually stop the use of plastics which is the main culprit. It blocks the drains and worsens the situation in the monsoons. I just want people to notice this appalling condition, hence the pictures," she adds.

ya its high time tht we realise our duty n keep our environment clean n hygienic😡nahi tho khudko hi bhugthna padega aur bhugat bhi rahe hai

I thought this was another naughty topic by Swati
But the sight looks hideous
Imagine waking up one fine morning and being greeted by such stench and filth
I hope people voice their opinions and BMC does something about it
