Why are there two options for the same thing?
Feminist and One who believes in Gender equality. Both are one and the same thing. 😕

iMini.. my sincere thanks for creating this topic .. a lot of feminists seem to be under the illusion that feminism is all about gender- equality when in fact feminism is a movement designed to crush the patriarchal mindset that enslaved women & give women equal rights in the society..there is a difference..feminism is exclusively women-centric & is least bothered about men's rights & for a good reason too , feminism in its truest form & honest meaning was a necessity & still is a necessity to get rid of the rigid patriarchal mindset wherein women suffered tremendously..
However, i believe that in places/regions where women have already acquired equal rights, feminism needs to be replaced with a 'gender-neutral' term.. feminism, whose terminology is itself based on 'women/females' should be updated to a 'gender -neutral' term..and it is absolutely prudent that it must bcoz 'the feminism' which emerged as a savior in initial stages of fight against patriarchal mindset will end up cannibalizing its own intent in a society wherein women are already equal..to know what i am talking about, you can visit another thread, Feminism in india & also 6 7 8 9, wherein this matter was dealt with in detail ..now i am pretty sure that this approach might not go down well with some of the ardent feminists who never loose an opportunity to aggressively promote this concept by glossing over it , exaggerating it & in effect turning this concept into something it is not, but i dont see why the society should suffer for the sake of few delusional crazy feminists..the welfare of the society should be of utmost priority..and society includes both men & women, and everybody else who falls in between & outside of these two genders...

EDIT : Feminism has been mentioned separately because, though feminism started off as a movement designed to win equal rights for women , it doesn't make any sense in a society wherein women are now given an upper hand left, right & center through laws implemented by the judiciary system of the country & are treated justly ..now the term is gender-biased & serves wrong purposes ( mostly by turning women into unpleasant, irrational & unreasonable beings )...

There is a simple way to understand it better,
" Illustrate the difference between Equalism & Feminism, they most certainly are not one & the same , they are two different terms & stand for different purposes ".. and you have your answer.. 😊

nope they aren't, feminism aims at getting women as same rights as men have, but the fact is men too are at a loss due to their gender in many aspects.

Feminism is too confusing for me to understand... the entire genesis , I dont understand.
More than gender equality, I hope society is one day gender neutral.

A feminist aims at women being treated equally.
I don't understand why they are kept separated above.

That applies to those abusing feminism. The real purpose is equality. The aim with which the movement started is equality.

With time evolution people are starting to use it for wrong reasons.

I stick to my opinion that feminism is equality for i believe i'm a little feminist.

I believe that feminism and gender equality are indeed the same in an ideal society, but in the real society we can't ignore those who abuse and manipulate laws.
