THE NIGHT AFTER
It is always said that major changes in one's life takes place through course of time. But here is the story of a girl whose life changed overnight.
Madhubala Malik, the lead protagonist in my story is all set to lose everything in life overnight... her father...her life...her character...her happiness. We never know whether such changes are for good or bad. But at that time to her she loses everything in her life and that too when her mistake was nothing.
Madhubala Malik was a common girl who lived with her father. Her mother died when she was about 10 years old. Since madhu was deprived of motherly love, Malik took great care in her upbringing and always pampered her and protected her from all harm. He always kept her in his cocoon that madhu grew up to be shy, composed and reserved. She talked less, scared more to face the world. In short she always required a man to be depended upon blindly. Her father was always there for her but how long?? What has destiny in store for her??
This is the game played by destiny. Here's the plot::
" madhu, iss saal aapki padaai khatm ho rahi hai. Toh mein soch raha tha ki aapki shaadi kara di jaaye. Toh uss silsile mein aaj shahar ke bahar jaa raha hoon. Aane mein der ho jaayega. Aap chahe toh damini aunty ke yahan rukh sakte hain." Samsher instructs madhu
" jee baba par aapke aate hi hum vapas aajayenge." Madhu answers shyly thinking about her marriage.
At night, it was raining heavily
"ache se khao madhu. Tumne kuch nahin khaya. Dada mujhe daantenge."
"Buajee baba ab tak kyun nahin aaye. 11 baj chukka hai." Madhu tells sadly looking out through the window.
Suddenly they hear a creaking sound from her house which is nearby.
"lagta hai ki baba aa gaye hain. Toh mein chalti hoon buajee. Baba nee kuch nahin khaya hoga."
Saying that madhu runs towards her house ignoring damini's protests to stop her. She thought that her father would wait for her at the doorstep. But he was not there. Since the rain was pouring out heavily, she decided to stay at her house rather than going back to damini aunty's house drenching herself. While she was drying herself, she hears a faint noise at the backyard of her house and at the same time the power was gone. She was scared from head to toe. She silently roamed around the house closing all windows and decided to go to bed rather than sit there like a scaredy cat. When she was about to enter her room, she felt a strong grip on her waist which pushed her to the nearby wall. Everything happened in the blink of an eye that her ability to scream or talk was gone and only stunned gasps escaped her mouth. When she strained her eyes to see what was happening around her, her retina registered the fact that a man was standing before her and the strong grip was his hands on her waist. When she was about to scream, he covered her mouth with his hands and lighted a cigarette lighter by which both of them could see each other's face clearly. She struggled to leave her and pleaded with her eyes to get rid of her house.
" chillane ki zaroorat nahin hai. Mein yahan tumhein nuksaan pahunchane nahin aaya hoon. Police mera peecha kar rahe hain. Thodi der baad mein chala jaaounga. Agar tumne awaaz nikali toh bewajah hi mujhe tumhein marna padega... Vada karo ki chillaogi nahin."
He tells her with determination clear in his voice and madhu nods her head. When he removes his hand from her mouth,
"tum kaun ho??" madhu asks him scared, shivering and with tears flowing down her eyes.
"mera naam rishab hai. Rishab kundra." He tells in a clear voice ringing through her ears.
