I didn't watch the drama from beginning, did Anu like Ishaan from the beginning or is it just now out of the blue? What happened to the guy that had liked her but she wasn't interested in him?

Annu when Urmi and Samrat's marriage took place was an impressionable teenager. There were various instances where Ishaan and Annu interacted - he always treated her like a cute little sister types - he was never shown to have any romantic feelings for either Annu or Urmi. However there was one instance where Annu met with an accident on the road and Ishaan was nearby and came to her rescue - picked her up, carried her to his car - took her to the hospital etc. He was just being a nice guy - however Annu developed a pretty BIG crush on him after this and thought all his actions were coming from a romantic place.

She went to the extent of calling him to the mandir and confessed her feelings for him - he handled the situation very maturely and tried to reason with her that she's too young for such deep feelings and he can't see her in that light however he will always be a friend to her. That scene - I don't recall the exact episode date but that was a pretty well written scene - you could see Ishaan taken aback at her confession but at the same time he didn't want to hurt her but he had to be honest and explain that her feelings for him are one sided.

On Annu's part however it seems that she has held a candle for him all these years and still hopes that now that she's older he'll accept her.

With Annu's characterization so far it doesn't seem she will turn negative out right - she does love her sister and sees that her sister has been through a lot, so I wouldn't expect her character to turn negative however in hindi tv soap land - things change over night for TRPs.

As for the guy that liked her - he seems to have vanished into thin air. When the guy came to meet Annu at her house - she told him clearly that she likes Ishaan - at the time I thought she was saying this to get this guy off her back but now it seems like she actually did hold a candle for him all these years.
