Sunday Driver | Wish Lanterns
If wishes were horses... but yes there is this dialogue from a movie which goes, "Itni shidaat se main tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, hi har zaare ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai. Kehte hain ki ... Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho to puri kayanat usey tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai."

Of course, The Alchemist talks of the very thing. There are books like The Secret and The Power which propagate power of thought or if you wish hard enough and with heart and put it out in the Universe, you will get your wish fulfilled.
Wish Lanterns, a way to manifest one's wishes in a form that will perhaps light up the very corner of one's heart with hope. And that is what one needs, hope to carry on.
The festival of lights just gave us all a message to do just that, light up the house and invite the Goddess of wealth. It asks one to keep hope, have faith in one's beliefs to do the best one can and one will be showered with all the goodness in life that one hopes for.
Do wishes get fulfilled? From experience the answer has to be a yes. I have taken a long journey to travel from one end of the world to the other to end up with people I work with, especially Gorky. Was it the one picture of Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi that made me wish for the proverbial moon? Yes, it did. My wish lanterns were my writing that reached the people I had wished to work with, be around and be part of a team that fascinated me with their stories, their work, their talent. The admiration has taken me a long way and yes, I found my home.
This Sunday, I wake up to thank all the powers that be in the Universe who listen to all the wishes that are put out there and make them come true.
I leave you with pictures from one of our shows where Aahil wished for eternal love with Sanam as he set afloat his wish lantern. Will his wish come true?
