A newborn will survive for a certain period even if no one takes care of it, a foetus can't do that. So, I'll still say it's not a separate entity unlike a newborn.
Also, I agree that the foetus doesnt cry but it definately eats whether through nutrients transfer through blood. Actually there is a yolk inside the sac which is holding the baby from where the foetus gets its food and energy to grow. By the time a lady is preg 6-7 wks, foetus has a heart which beats, so in that sense it is a seperate entity. Right?
Wrong. Even if we consider the transfer of nutrients through blood as eating, what about respiration, excretion and such things which will support it as an individual, a foetus can't do that.
