This is true. She turned vegetarian for Shahid and started reading books and watching foreign films for Saif. Oh Kareena. šŸ˜† At least she is aware of it though. šŸ˜†

The one distinction is that she doesn't just copy and then revert afterwards.
She picked up being vegetarians not just coz he was, she liked it and actually kept it in her life even today, after splitting up with Shahid.

How does this matter? Doesn't she go to church and attend mass and celebrate Christmas too? Wouldn't that make her a Christian then?

Point is, just coz she went to a darbas doesn't make her muslim either. Saif held a Puja at his new home with Kareena. Does that make Saif hindu?
And yes, Kareena has held a strong Christian identity. She talks about it often, all the Christian traditions. Memories going all the way back to childhood, courtesy Babita.

My points is, if someone pushes conversion on you as a Muslim, you CANNOT be doing other religious activities. It just doesnt work like that. What's the point of conversion then?
Both Kareena and her father have clarified that there was no conversion.

There are details and pictures of their actual wedding ceremony. Saif spoke about it as well.

There are garlands (not a muslim ceremony), a ring (not muslim ceremony either) and a Walima the next day (Muslim)

And they got a court marriage, which kinda confirms the lack of any one religious ceremony. What's the point of a conversion if you didn't get a Nikaah done? You might as well have not gotten married then according to Muslim traditions. WHICH IS WHY mullahs were all out issuing fatwas against Saif and Kareena saying their marriage isn't valid. šŸ˜†

Here, the use of garlands and reading vows is definitely NOT a nikaah ceremony.

Any Muslim pushing conversion would also NOT be holding a Puja at a new apartment

Here's an interview that came out right after the wedding.
Saif

Your wedding model drew flak from some eager members of the clergy, apart from the angst from those who expected invites but didn't get them.
See, we had a dinner. There were some toasts made. It was a very cross-cultural wedding. There was a little bit of Hinduism in it, there was a little bit of Islamic tradition in it, there was a bit of Christianity in it. Perhaps I connected to the last bit the most, fortunately or unfortunately. It's the language I understand - you make promises to each other, you have a dinner where you raise a toast to the father of the bride, you welcome her into the family, you thank people. So we absorbed that part. My father would have liked to see it; I feel it's something he'd have wanted. I don't think he would have relished paying for it very much though, he was quite concerned at the scale of it we had in mind (laughs)!

But then I also came around to that, you know. I was looking at this whole shebang that was being originally planned and I was like, how much? And for what? I'm not Mr Ambani or Mr Tata or even Mr Aggarwal, the diamond merchant from Gujarat who has the flash cash and is OK with showing it. And, for what, really? I said, no, it'll hurt me to have this grand party at Pataudi, and to impress whom?

What of reporters searching out Maulvis who declared your wedding unlawful?
Earlier, there was a school of thought that unless you have a nikaah, it's not valid. But there is a Special Marriages Act that supercedes that, thank God. I'd like people to keep guessing how exactly we got married, actually, suffice to say that Hindus and Muslims would both be quite happy, and the Christians as well. God would be smiling, I'm sure!

How easy is it for the children? At the back of your mind, somewhere, you'll have the question: How comfortable are they going to be? Did you have to handle any awkward silences?
In a modern relationship today, you have these situations which are not textbook. But if there's love and understanding, people grow together, grow comfortable. If it wasn't a comfortable situation, comfortable enough - the fact that they were there at the wedding, and quite happy to be there, says it all. And they played quite an important part in the wedding. Ibrahim held the ring for me, Sara held the garlands. I wanted them, and Kareena wanted them, to be very much a part of things. That was something that we had worked our way towards in our relationship.

We keep talking about India being very traditional and full of these old world values while more and more people are raped and things like that. We need to accept the fact that we're not all that traditional anymore. First of all, we're human. The most correct relationships in the most perfect kind of setup can also end in complete disaster. You're better off giving it a shot where people actually love each other. And people should understand that.

Why does it matter to anyone what Kareena believes in. I think she respect and celebrates every religious holiday. Let's just leave it at that.
On topic..it's okay if she adapt as long as she doesn't loose her identity. Which I don't think she has as she still likes to watch old Bollywood movies. I think Saif turned her into an English movie loving person. Nothing wrong with that..as long as she shuts up about not watching Bollywood films. I just want that old Kareena back who use to say watching Dhoom 2 type of films is her thing. She was so passionate about Bollywood.
