Part 3
"My fire dog,Fierce,began growing suspicious of the time I was spending here" Arnav chuckled "He knew I hated the atmosphere here and the humans but he didn't do anything about it.As long as he got his souls to feed on,he was happy" Arnav sighed "Sometimes I stayed over at Khushi's apartment.I knew her whole schedule.She woke up at 8 and went to the forest at 9 for her berry and flower picking.At 12 I would invite her to my home and she would stay for an hour.We mostly spent time together in my garden.She always did like the green environment.At 1,she would go to the city to sell what she had gathered.I loved helping her,making her laugh and smile,spending time with her,You could imagine how much she was changing me.From a cruel,heartless demon to a soft,happy human"
"Wait wait" interrupted Payal "What happened after you guys kissed?"
"I guess you could say we got closer on physical levels.Kissing and holding hands and hugging seemed like normal things to do in whatever spare time we had together.Anyways,Khushi always went to the temple after she finished selling everything.She would always try to bring me inside but I always somehow managed to persuade her into letting me wait outside.The temple was a holy place.It was guarded by angel magic so I couldn't go in there with her"
"Didn't she ever grow suspicious?"
Arnav chuckled "Oh she did but I always managed to wave it off and get her mind on something else"
"Did Khushi begin growing feelings for you?"
Arnav pressed his lips together tightly and nodded "She did fall in love with me which is one of the reasons she gave herself to me"
"Meaning?" Payal wiggled her eyebrows with a funny grin.
Arnav looked away turning red "We consummated.You know what I mean" He narrowed his eyes at Payal's curious look "I am not giving you any details about that.That's way too personal"
Payal blushed "W-What? M-Me" she spluttered.She shook her head and looked at him "You should look at yourself.Awe.You have turned bright red.It's so cute.Wait a minute! She still didn't know you were a demon!"
Arnav turned pale "Yes.She found out the next day after we consummated.In very unfortunate circumstances.I didn't realize I was being watched"
"By who?"
"My brother Shyam"
Payal looked at him curiously "You have a brother?"
Arnav nodded "Two in fact.Shyam,the second oldest and NK,the youngest"
"So what happened?"
Arnav looked away,his eyes slightly moist.His throat ached "I lost her.All because of me"
"Arnav" Payal said softly.She put her hand on top of his "Are you going to be okay?"
Arnav nodded slowly.He brushed away a tear that fell on his cheek against his will.He took a deep breath "I remember that day clearly.It's something I will never be able to forget"
Flashback
It was dark,late at night.Khushi looked out her apartment window at the sky excitedly.Arnav came up behind her,wrapping his arms around her waist.He nuzzled against her neck "Why are you up so late?"
Khushi turned around in his arms and smiled widely at him "Arnav there's an eclipse tonight!" she said excitedly.
He looked at her confused "So?"
Khushi pouted "I want to see it.I never saw it before and I don't want to miss it tonight.Will you please come with me?"
Arnav pecked her lips finding her adorable "Fine but only because you are so cute"
Khushi giggled.

"Khushi did we necessarily have to come out to this park in the middle of the night" Arnav whined.
Khushi frowned at him "I thought the view would be wonderful from here"
He sighed "Okay"
The park was deserted.Nobody was there.There were a few benches on the side and grass covered the ground.
Khushi looked up and a grin spread on her face "It's happening"
Arnav looked up.There stood the moon ready to be covered "Arnav" somebody called out.
Arnav frowned and turned around with Khushi behind him doing the same "Dad" he gasped.There stood the King of Hell looking at Arnav with disapproval in his eyes "Dad what are you doing here?"
"I see what Shyam has told me is true" he said.
Shyam came out from behind the King and grinned at Arnav "Caught you with your girlfriend.Now you can't do a thing about it"
Shyam sent his wandering gaze over Khushi making Arnav glare at him.He hid Khushi behind him "I'll ask again.What are you doing here?"
Shyam shrugged "I realized you weren't in Hell and in the human world more than necessary which was really unusual for you since everyone knows you hate the atmosphere and humans there" Arnav groaned.Did everybody know that?.Shyam continued "I began noticing your fire dog,Fierce,was feeding on more souls than you usually let him.You only gave him more souls if he was either angry or upset with you which was usually because you forgot to feed him.I began doing my own investigation and began watching you.Your every move started and ended with this girl.I figured dad had to know about this.After all you will be King after he dies"
"King? Hell? Fire dog?" Khushi stared at Arnav confused "What is going on Arnav?"
"Khushi I can explain"
"Really? You had all this time to tell her.Days and days.How about I tell her" Shyam grinned and looked at Khushi "Hello pretty flower.My name is Shyam.I am Arnav's brother"
Khushi looked at Arnav "You told me you had no family"
"Khushi I-"
Shyam chuckled interrupting him "Don't believe anything he has said to you sweetheart.He is full of lies.After all he was born and raised in Hell like the rest of us.Arnav is a prince.You know Heaven and Hell? He is a prince of Hell.He is a demon.A creature full of lies,deceit,and destructure.I bet he came down here to seduce you"
Arnav widened his eyes and shook his head at Khushi "No Khushi.Don't believe him.I really do like you.I didn't come here to seduce you.Trust me"
Khushi looked at Arnav,her eyes moistened.She gulped "Is everything else true then Arnav? Is it true you are not a human but a demon?"
"Khushi I-"
"Answer me Arnav"
Arnav hung his head "Yes" he said in a low voice.
"Is it true you are a prince of Hell?"
"Yes"
"Is it true that your nature is to lie,decieve,and destroy?"
"Yes" Arnav never felt more ashamed of himself as he did now as Khushi questioned him.
"Is this your true form?"
"My human form yes" His demon form was much much scarier.Khushi wouldn't even have to look at him before she would turn around and run away as if she was on fire.
"Is it true you tried to seduce me?"
Arnav shot his head up "No Khushi.I didn't.It was a complete coincidence we met.Yes I felt attracted to you.I felt something perhaps more than attraction for you but I couldn't really tell"
Khushi covered her mouth with her hand trying to contain her sob but it came out anyways.Tears covered her face "You are a liar! A betrayer! Why didn't you tell me what you really were before you even touched me?"
"Khushi please listen to me.I know I am in a really bad light right now and look like the villain but I can explain"
As he tried to hug her,Khushi immediately pushed him away disgusted "Then explain"
"Khushi I..." he stared at her speechlessly.What could he say? He decided to come out with the truth "I didn't tell you about myself because at first I thought you wouldn't believe me.Then I realized even if you did ever find out what I was,you would look at me like you are now.Disgusted, and scared"
The King who was a silent witness to this finally decided to speak up "Arnav"
"I am a bit busy right now dad"
"Well that can wait" he said in a booming voice.Khushi jumped and reached for the first thing to protect her that came to mind.The back of Arnav's shirt "Is it really true you are involved with this human girl?" the King asked.
Khushi clenched the back of Arnav's shirt with her small hands.She peered over his shoulder and caught the King's eyes on her.She immediately hid behind Arnav once again.The King could look very intimidating when he wanted to and not to mention very scary.
Arnav swallowed and looked at his father in the eyes "Yes" he said firmly.
"Is it possible that she could be with your off spring right now?"
Arnav widened his eyes.He hadn't thought of it but it could be possible "Yes" he repeated.
Arnav held Khushi's hand tightly from behind,trying to assure her than himself that hopefully everything was going to be okay.
"Do you love her?"
That question stumped Arnav.Did he love her? Was love even a thing? Did it even exist? Arnav never knew what love was and most certainly never felt it.He thought humans made it a plain excuse to woo the opposite gender to stay by their side.For a couple years and or forever was up to them.
Arnav bit his lip and looked at Khushi looking at him with her wide curious and worrying eyes.He could tell what she was wondering : Did he love her?
Even though Khushi had said 'I love you' to him once during their love making,he wasn' t exactly sure if she said it because she meant it or it had just come out.
Arnav let go of Khushi's hand and took a step forward,making his final decision
Flashback Ends
"My father was a fair King for a demon.He felt pity on the humans so he happily made the deal with the angels.The deal was that the pure souls go to heaven ready to pick their after life while the dirty and rotten ones go to Hell for punishment.Once their punishment was over,their after life was chosen for them.My father thought if something was meant to be,it wasn't meant to be separated" Arnav sighed "The same rule would have applied to me and Khushi but I ruined everything.I was a foolish guy back then.I thought lust and attraction existed but definitely not love" A tear slipped from his eye "And that was when I made the worst mistake of my life"
Flashback
"No" Arnav said firmly "I don't love Khushi"
