Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye - A much needed concept for Indian Television.
On 7th of October, Balaji Telefilms introduced "Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye" on Indian television through the GEC Like Ok at 9:30pm. The first episode of the show was successful in gaining many eyeballs due to it's different concept. The show marks the comeback of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin fame Apoorva Agnihotri and the beautiful bollywood actress Sonali Bendre's steps into daily soaps as well.
Ajeeb Daastaan Hai Ye is the story of a woman, Shobha Sachdev, played by the beautiful Sonali Bendre who is irrevocably in love with her husband, Samarth Sachdev, played by the talented actor Harsh Chhaya. Shobha is living in an illusion that Samarth loves her equally. However, the mirror of her illusion is broken by the stone of reality on the night of their 9th wedding anniversary when she finds out that her husband ain't loyal to her. He has been cheating on her. Shobha at first, is shell shocked to even react. She denies to believe it but later, as the truth unfolds and she hears it from her husband's mouth itself, she breaks down. Shobha collects her broken self and accepts the bitter truth. She decides to do a job for the financial help and steps out in the world to face the life struggles. On the other hand, Samarth believes that Shobha is way too much dependent on him and won't ever be able to stand all by herself but Shobha proves Samarth wrong as she not only stands tall with her head held high but also that she can do it without being dependent on him.
Talking about another lead, Vikram, essayed by Apoorva Agnihotri is a very interesting character. He believes women must be treated like men but at the same time, he feels men are superior than women.
It would not be wrong if we'll say that it was a much needed show to be introduced on Indian Television. To Indian Audiences. Many woman can relate to Shobha's character and hopefully they'll get some inspiration to take a step against the male chauvinist world and will make a place of their own without being dependent on anyone.
It would be really interesting to see Shobha and Vikram's tuning in the further episodes. So, don't forget to tune into Life Ok, every Monday to Friday at 9:30pm.
