Ekta's spiritual sojourn

Ekta Kapoor's line of incense sticks, called Ekta's Karyasiddhi Graha Shanti Dhoop (EKGSD), which was supposed to be launched on June 7 (her birthday), will see the light of day on July 20. Over the weekend, Ekta left with her friend, tarot card reader Sunita Menon, for Puri in Orissa to participate in the Jagannath rath yatra.

Ekta's close friends, TV actress Suvarna Jha (Trupti of Kyunki) and Preeti Gupta will also accompany her. While Suvarna left three days ago, Kapoor went with Menon and Gupta over the weekend.

Divine support

Says a source, "Before launching a new project, Ekta seeks blessings from God. Actually, this is a dual purpose visit. Ekta's show Khwaish on Sony is going on air from July 16 and then there's the launch of EKGSD."
So why was the launch of EKGSD delayed? The source reveals that Sunita Menon advised Ekta against the launch on June 7. "Sunita told Ekta that it would be a better commercial proposition if EKGSD hit the market after July 15," he says.

When contacted, Ekta says, "Yes, this is true. I have come here to seek blessings. It's a great feeling to be a part of the rath yatra. This is my first visit to this place. I plan to visit the Bhubaneshwari temple too before returning to Mumbai."

Menon too is visiting Puri for the first time. She explains why she advised Ekta to delay the launch of KGSD. "June 7 was a great day in terms of marketing EKGSD, but astrologically, Ekta's planetary positions are far more favourable after July 15."

Each box of EKGSD will have seven dhoop battis of different fragrances, meant for different days of the week. After returning, Kapoor and Menon will walk to Siddhi Vinayak temple with EKGSD before July 20.
